Salary: GBP60000 - GBP70000 per annum
Payroll Leadership & Operations Manager- £60k-£70k
Reed Accountancy and Finance are delighted to be working with one of Northern Ireland's most well-known and respected organisations. Our client has an exciting new vacancy for an experience Payroll Leadership & Operations Manager to join their team.
This role requires a deep understanding of payroll legislation and a strong capability in managing complex payroll systems and processes.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Lead the delivery of five distinct payrolls, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with all relevant legislation.
- Manage complex payroll operations including manual calculations, cross-border tax considerations, and multi-frequency payrolls.
- Maintain payroll data integrity across all systems, ensuring accurate processing of starters, leavers, transfers, and contractual changes.
- Oversee the production and distribution of all payroll documentation.
- Ensure robust payroll governance, compliance, and control systems are in place.
- Partner with Finance for reconciliations, budgeting, and cross-functional governance.
- Manage pension transactions, contributions, and reporting for five pension schemes.
- Act as the lead for payroll systems, supporting enhancements and the deployment of new functionalities.
- Identify and implement improvements in payroll processes, automation, and operational efficiency.
- Serve as the senior point of contact for all payroll queries, providing guidance and building strong relationships with internal stakeholders.
- Lead, coach, and develop the payroll team, promoting a high-performance culture.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Significant experience managing end-to-end payroll operations in the UK and ROI, particularly in complex, high-volume environments.
- Deep technical knowledge of payroll legislation, including PAYE, NI, PRSI, USC, BIK, statutory payments, workplace pensions, and automatic enrolment.
- Strong experience with integrated HR & payroll systems and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Proven ability to manage competing demands, deliver under pressure, and maintain high accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills with a customer-focused, professional approach.
- Experience leading or mentoring payroll teams.
- A proactive, resilient, and adaptable mindset, comfortable in fast-paced environments.
