<p><p><strong>Youth Worker 2 Australia </strong> </p><p><br></p><p><strong>Full-Time Position </strong> </p><p><strong>Visa Options: </strong> Subclass 417 Working Holiday Visa or Subclass 482 Skills in Demand Visa<br><strong>Annual Salary: </strong> AUD $95,380<br><strong>Reports To: </strong> Case Manager<br><strong>Locations Available: </strong> Bunbury, Cairns, Peel, Toowoomba, Townsville </p><p><br></p><p><strong>Working Hours & Shift Patterns </strong> </p><p>This is a shift-based role within a residential care setting, designed to support the needs of young people (YP). </p><ul><li><strong>Average weekly hours: </strong> 38 paid shift hours plus <strong>two sleepovers per week </strong>, averaged over a 12-week period </li><li><strong>Overtime: </strong> Managed via an hours bank system, which can be paid out or taken as time in lieu, depending on operational needs </li><li><strong>Typical shifts: </strong> </li><li>Predominantly 24-hour shifts, consisting of: </li><li><strong>16 active working hours </strong> </li><li><strong>8-hour sleepover </strong> </li><li><strong>Rostering pattern: </strong> </li><li>Standard rosters average <strong>5 x 24-hour shifts per fortnight </strong> </li><li>Averaged over an <strong>84-day (12-week) period </strong> </li><li>Some shifts may be designated as <strong>support shifts </strong>, depending on the needs of the young person </li> </ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Model of Care </strong> </p><p>The model of care at Safe Places for Children in Australia varies based on the individual needs of young people and departmental requirements. This may include: </p><ul><li><strong>1:1 support (lone working) </strong> </li><li><strong>1 staff member to 2 young people </strong> </li><li>Other ratios based on assessed risk and care requirements </li> </ul><p>All support is delivered in accordance with organisational policies and the Integrated Practice Framework. </p><p><br></p><p><strong>Essential Requirements </strong> </p><p>Applicants <strong>must </strong> meet the following criteria: </p><ul><li><strong>Minimum of 2 years experience </strong> (within the last 5 years) working with children and young people who display <strong>extreme challenging and pain-based behaviours </strong>, such as: Verbal aggression; Physical aggression Self-injury within a residential, health or social care setting </li><li>Experience working <strong>one-to-one </strong> with young people displaying complex behaviours (residential experience preferred) </li><li><strong>Qualifications: </strong> A <strong>relevant degree </strong> is desirable or <strong>a minimum requirement: </strong> Level 4 Diploma (or equivalent) in a related discipline </li><li>Ability to work <strong>shift patterns </strong>, including <strong>sleepovers </strong>, based on the needs of the service </li><li>Hold a <strong>full UK or Republic of Ireland driving licence </strong> for a minimum of 12 months </li><li>Able to obtain: International police clearance; Relevant state police and statutory checks for the Australian state of employment </li><li>Eligible to obtain one of the following visas: Subclass 482 Skills in Demand (SID) Visa or Subclass 417 Working Holiday Visa </li><li>Must meet <strong>Australian Government eligibility requirements </strong> for sponsorship and potential Permanent Residency (PR).
