<p><strong>Optical Specialist (Manufacturing) </strong> </p><p><strong>Bala </strong> </p><p><strong>£40'000 - 4 Day working Week </strong> </p><p>We are seeking a skilled Optical Specialist to join a precision manufacturing team. The successful candidate will support the production, inspection, and quality assurance of high-precision optical components and systems. This role requires strong technical understanding of optics, attention to detail, and the ability to work to tight tolerances in a controlled manufacturing environment. </p><p><strong>Role & Responsibilities: </strong> </p><ul><li>Inspect, test, and verify optical components including lenses, prisms, and assemblies </li><li>Interpret technical drawings, optical specifications, and engineering documentation </li><li>Carry out precision measurements using metrology equipment (e.g. interferometers, profilometers, autocollimators) </li><li>Assemble and align optical systems to required tolerances </li><li>Support quality control processes, including root cause analysis of defects </li><li>Work closely with engineering and production teams to improve yield and process efficiency </li> </ul><p><strong>Knowledge, Skills & Experience: </strong> </p><ul><li>Experience working in cleanroom or high-precision manufacturing environments </li><li>Familiarity with laser systems or photonics-based components </li><li>Background in mechanical engineering, physics, or optical engineering </li><li>Experience with ISO quality standards (e.g. ISO 9001) </li> </ul><p><strong>Benefits Package: </strong> </p><ul><li>A starting salary between £35'000 and £40'000 </li><li>Opportunities for technical advancement </li><li>Enhanced Company Pension </li><li>Employee Assistance Programme </li><li>Flexible Working </li> </ul><p>To apply please email your CV / resume to </p> <p>Hunter Selection is a nationwide provider of recruitment services in ENGINEERING, MANUFACTURING, SERVICE & TECHNOLOGY.
