We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to support the Manager in the daily operations of a beautiful nursery in the Kent area. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a genuine passion for early childhood education and working with children. The Deputy Manager will play a vital role in ensuring smooth nursery operations, maintaining compliance with regulations, and fostering a positive atmosphere for both staff and children. Duties <ul> <li>Assist the Manager in overseeing the daily running of the nursery </li> <li>Support staff in delivering engaging and developmentally appropriate activities for children </li> <li>Lead by example in maintaining high standards of childcare, safety, and hygiene </li> <li>Supervise and mentor team members, providing guidance and support to ensure effective teamwork </li> <li>Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and external agencies regarding children's progress and centre policies </li> <li>Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, policies, and procedures relating to early childhood education and childcare </li> <li>Organise staff rotas, training sessions, and ongoing professional development programmes </li> <li>Assist in managing administrative tasks such as record keeping, reporting, and budgeting </li> <li>Support recruitment processes by participating in interviews and onboarding new staff members </li> <li>Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the quality of care provided </li> </ul> Qualifications, training and experience: <ul> <li>CACHE Level 3, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent. </li> <li>Excellent knowledge of health and safety legislation. </li> <li>Excellent knowledge of the EYFS. </li> <li>Knowledge of the new Ofsted inspection framework. </li> <li>Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work to targets and deadlines. </li> <li>Good time management skills. </li> <li>Excellent communication skills. </li> <li>Strong management/leadership skills. </li> <li>Knowledge and understand of equal opportunities / SENCO etc. </li> <li>Previous relevant management experience. </li> <li>Excellent rates of pay with on-going support and career development. </li> </ul> All successful applicants will be required to have an Enhanced DBS carried out.
