<p><strong>Role description:</strong></p>
<p>This role offers the opportunity to join the Human Factors team at Radway Green, where you will contribute to Basis of Safety documentation by identifying human‑factor risks and ensuring processes remain ALARP in line with COMAH Regulations. You will support the development, review and improvement of Standard Operating Procedures, Safety Critical Task Screening and Human Failure <span class="rec-format">Analysis</span>. As Human Factors capability grows across manufacturing and engineering, this role provides a <span class="rec-format">strong</span> foundation for professional development, with training and upskilling available for <span class="rec-format">candidates</span> from engineering, safety or manufacturing backgrounds seeking a career transition</p>
<p><strong>Core Duties:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Coordinate and <span class="rec-format">carry</span> out Safety Critical Task screening workshops to ensure the relevant stakeholders have contributed to the Human Factors assessment process</li>
<li>Liaise with the site Safety, Health, Environment (SHE) team and the High Hazard team to ensure best practice is being applied to the categorisation of high hazard risk</li>
<li>Review findings and recommendations to with relevant stakeholders to agree and record appropriate recommendations</li>
<li>Perform <span class="rec-format">hierarchical</span> task <span class="rec-format">analysis</span> and human failure <span class="rec-format">analysis</span>.</li>
<li>Review and continuously improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)</li>
<li>Liaise with the Engineering teams to ensure that Safety Critical Tasks are identified and that subsequent <span class="rec-format">controls</span> are implemented and documented in the process SOPs</li>
<li>Undertake any reasonable duties in order to support the Basis of Safety</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Essential skills:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>You’ll have experience working within an engineering, safety or manufacturing environment</li>
<li>You’ll have familiarity with human‑factors methods used in safety assessments for high‑hazard processes</li>
<li>You’ll have a keen interest in developing human‑factors <span class="rec-format">expertise</span> for high‑hazard environments</li>
<li>You’ll have the ability to benefit from on‑the‑job training, with the potential to upskill if you bring transferable experience from engineering or health and safety in a manufacturing setting</li>
<li>You’ll have familiarity with Basis of Safety <span class="rec-format">principles</span> and relevant best practice</li>
<li>You’ll have experience working within multi‑disciplinary teams, particularly alongside engineers</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>The BAE Systems High Hazard Team:</strong></p>
<p>The central High Hazard function brings together SMEs across engineering and human factors to support five munitions’ sites. The team advises on high‑risk operations, explosives licensing, testing, COMAH planning, best practice, and technical justifications, while contributing to major new process and facility development projects</p>
