Sous Chef<br><br>Make sure to apply quickly in order to maximise your chances of being considered for an interview Read the complete job description below.<br>Looking to be part of a restaurant heading for a rosette<br>Location: Ambleside/Windermere/Grasmere<br>Salary: £30,000 - £33,000 basic + tronc & tips (OTE £40,000+)<br><br>Accommodation: Live-in accommodation available - we would also consider a Sous Chef as part of a couple where the other person is looking for work as a general assistant (reception/breakfast shifts/housekeeping work).<br>Pension & discounts<br>Stunning restaurant, bar & hotel group heading for a rosette<br>A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join a well-established and highly respected hospitality operator in the Lake District, known for delivering outstanding food and a consistently high-quality guest experience.<br>Set in a stunning countryside location, this is a busy, multifaceted operation with a thriving restaurant, bar and live events offering, attracting a strong mix of regular trade, walkers, tourists and destination diners all year round.<br>The business has built an excellent reputation over many years and offers a supportive, professional kitchen environment with a strong team culture.<br>The company has a small group of successful sites in the local area & the role will give the opportunity to work across all sites, including hotels & a rosetted restaurant.<br>The company offers a strong, supportive team culture with a real family feel & a professional, well-run kitchen environment using locally sourced produce & it has a loyal and consistent customer base with regulars & visitors dining in the restaurants on a regular basis & the role gives you the opportunity to develop your skills across multiple sites<br><br>The Role<br>We are looking for a Sous Chef with strong pastry experience to work closely with the Executive Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen.<br>This is a hands-on leadership role, where you will:<br>Support the Head Chef in managing and organising the kitchen<br>Consistently deliver high-quality, fresh dishes<br>Help maintain high standards across all areas of the kitchen<br>Assist with stock control, ordering, costings and rotas<br>Support the training, development and motivation of junior chefs<br>Ensure smooth, efficient service in a busy, high-pressure environment<br>You will also play a key role in menu development, working with fresh, seasonal and locally sourced ingredients.<br>Your Responsibilities<br>Deliver consistently high standards of food quality and presentation<br>Lead the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef<br>Develop and execute high-quality dishes<br>Maintain excellent kitchen organisation and hygiene standards<br>Work closely with front of house to ensure a seamless guest experience<br>Support ongoing development of menus and kitchen standards<br>Help drive a positive, professional and motivated team environment<br>What are we looking for ?<br>The successful candidate will have:<br>Previous experience as a Sous Chef or strong Junior Sous Chef<br>Experience working in a busy, fresh food environment<br>Ability to lead a team and run service confidently<br>Good understanding of kitchen management, stock control and costings<br>Passion for fresh, seasonal and locally sourced food<br>Calm, organised and consistent under pressure<br>Positive attitude with a genuine desire to learn and develop<br><br>Package: The starting salary for the role is around £32,000 pus excellent TRONC & tips with the ability to earn well over £40,000.<br>There is also live-in accommodation available in what is a beautiful part of the Lake District & various other benefits, including pension, discounts & the opportunity to develop your career further. xwzovoh <br>This is a brilliant opportunity for a Sous Chef with a passion for food to join a respected business which is heading to get a rosette, work with great produce, and develop their career within a supportive and ambitious company.<br>If youre looking for a role where you can grow, contribute and be part of a strong team in an incredible location, please send your CV.
