Senior Test Development Engineer<br><br>Making sure you fit the guidelines as an applicant for this role is essential, please read the below carefully.<br><br>Location: Glenrothes or Livingston<br><br>About the role:<br>Responsible for the design, manufacture, verification and validation, along with through life technical support of board level, sub-system and system level test equipment.<br><br>Skills:<br>• Test software design<br>• Excellent knowledge of analogue and digital electronic circuit design<br>• Ability to write comprehensive technical design documentation<br>• Proven knowledge in handover and management of designs in production<br>• Excellent hardware troubleshooting skills<br>• Able to support/debug system integration<br>• Must be eligible for MOD Security Clearance to a minimum of SC level<br><br>Highly Desirable:<br>• Significant test development in a safety critical industry<br>• Use of Mentor Graphics schematic entry and PCB layout tools<br>• Understanding of common test architectures PXI/d LXI<br>• Measurement Uncertainty and its application in test equipment design and validation<br>• Software Certification or detailed knowledge of: NI LabView, NI CVI, NI TestStand, C#<br>• Design of mix signal circuits<br>• High speed serial networks<br>• An appreciation of RF electronics<br>• Knowledge of power supply design<br><br>Responsibilities<br>• Design of functional test equipment for circuit cards, sub-assemblys and systems.<br>• To take responsibility for the design and overall quality of the test equipment and provide leadership and guidance for junior engineers.<br>• Documentation of design specifications and implementation details. Take part in design reviews. Upholding of design standards and methodologies.<br>• Realisation of complex system requirements to provide robust and reliable test hardware solutions.<br>• Responsibility for the complete implementation of detailed technical items and an understanding/appreciation of system level items.<br>• Collaboration with other team members (including both hardware and software engineers) to agree system designs, interfaces and protocols etc.<br>• Development of appropriate test hardware, test software and procedures, both informal and formal, to prove the correct operation of hardware.<br>• Provide support to manufacturing answering product queries & resolving technical issues.<br>• Provide support for the test hardware and manage obsolescence throughout its lifecycle.<br>• Monitoring and reporting of progress of test development to immediate supervisor and development team.<br>• Proactively support company compliance to Health and Safety legislation through adherence to company polices, processes and practices.<br>• Ensure that all business activity is conducted in line with company values, policies and ethics codes of conduct.<br>• Undertake any other activity as reasonably requested by management<br>• Application of Design Review Processes<br>• Accountable for engineering specific risks and opportunities.<br>• Key contributor at Gate/Design reviews<br>• Provides guidance of Test Development processes and tools.<br>• Contribute to section/business area resource planning with a working understanding of Microsoft Project tools.<br>• Test Engineering Lead for a small/medium scale test engineering program<br>• Ability to identify and engage the appropriate SMEs to support the Test Development Engineering activities. xwzovoh <br>• Contributor/Approver for standard/tailored test development process including Design Review gates and content<br>• Key interface to external customers/suppliers.
