<p>Job Description</p><br>If the following job requirements and experience match your skills, please ensure you apply promptly.<br><p>Senior Control Systems Software Engineer – PLC / SCADA</p><p>Glasgow | Hybrid | Competitive Salary + Benefits</p><p>VIQU is recruiting a Senior Control Systems Software Engineer to join a leading engineering and system integration business delivering critical projects across the energy and renewables sector. This is a hands-on, senior technical role where you’ll take ownership of PLC and SCADA system design, development, and delivery, act as a technical lead on projects, mentor junior engineers, and drive engineering best practice across the team.</p><p>Key Responsibilities</p><ul><li>Design and develop PLC control systems across platforms such as Siemens, Rockwell or Schneider</li><li>Configure and deliver SCADA/DCS solutions including WinCC, FactoryTalk, Zenon or similar</li><li>Lead on solution design, technical standards, and code quality</li><li>Produce and review technical documentation including FDS, DDS and test specifications</li><li>Lead and support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and commissioning activities</li><li>Review and validate engineering output from other engineers</li><li>Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across engineering, operations and project delivery, acting as a senior point of contact</li></ul><p>Key Requirements</p><ul><li>Strong experience with at least one PLC platform (Siemens TIA Portal, Rockwell Studio 5000, Schneider EcoStruxure)</li><li>Proven SCADA configuration experience (WinCC, FactoryTalk, Zenon or similar)</li><li>Solid understanding of IEC 61131 programming (Ladder, FBD, Structured Text, SFC)</li><li>Experience delivering automation projects end-to-end in a senior or lead capacity</li><li>Strong knowledge of industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Profinet, Profibus)</li><li>Ability to mentor and support junior engineers while taking ownership of technical delivery</li></ul><p>To apply: Reach out to Phoebe Rees via the VIQU website or LinkedIn. xwzovoh Referral bonus up to £1,000 (T&Cs apply).</p>
