<p>Job title – Project Engineer - Mechanical</p><br>Are you the right candidate for this opportunity Make sure to read the full description below.<br><p>Duration – 12months contract</p><p>Start date – Asap</p><p>Shift patterns – Mon-Fri 37hours per week (2days onsite)</p><p>Pay rate - DOE</p><p>Location – Bristol</p><p>To deliver practical, fit-for-purpose engineering solutions for projects, including providing specialist support on more complex assignments. To ensure that design authority standards and configuration control processes are consistently and appropriately applied.</p><p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p><p>• Determine project functional requirements and identify stakeholder needs for allocated projects.</p><p>• Assist in the development of the Project Execution Plan, including design, safety case, and commissioning strategies.</p><p>• Support the project optioneering and decision-making process.</p><p>• Develop concept designs and deliver fit-for-purpose engineering solutions.</p><p>• Prepare and/or approve project technical specifications.</p><p>• Oversee detailed design activities in line with design authority standards.</p><p>• Prepare modification proposals as required, acting as Nominated Responsible Engineer when appointed.</p><p>• Conduct technical reviews and approvals of contractor documentation, including work instructions, method statements, and risk assessments.</p><p>• Provide technical oversight of construction and deconstruction activities to ensure alignment with design intent.</p><p>• Review and approve as-built drawings.</p><p>• Define and supervise commissioning and/or decommissioning activities.</p><p>• Manage project handover to operations, ensuring all required drawings, documentation, and training are completed.</p><p>• Engage and collaborate with system engineers and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle to support effective delivery.</p><p>• Maintain configuration control across the site during the project lifecycle.</p><p>• Adhere to Environment, Health, Safety, Security, and Quality (EHSSQ) policies and promote continuous improvement in these areas.</p><p>• Demonstrate a customer-focused approach, contributing across areas of competence as required.</p><p>• Review site and off-site events, performing root cause analysis to drive improvements.</p><p>• Undertake delegated Design Authority responsibilities and act as an intelligent customer when required.</p><p>• Support the development and delivery of training within own technical discipline.</p><p>• Participate in emergency scheme duties as required.</p><p><strong>Essentials</strong></p><p>• Proven experience in a discipline-specific engineering role (Mechanical, Electrical, C&I, or Civil) within an industrial environment.</p><p>• Experience in nuclear and/or conventional project engineering.</p><p>• Knowledge of relevant company and/or national engineering standards.</p><p>• Working knowledge of Safety Rules and risk assessment methodologies.</p><p>• Understanding of Site Licence conditions and Quality Management System requirements.</p><p>• Familiarity with the CDM Designer role.</p><p>• Experience in contract management.</p><p>• Demonstrated experience in project delivery.</p><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><p>• Relevant HNC, degree, or NQF Level 5/6 qualification.</p><p>• Membership of a recognised Engineering Institution.</p><p>• Chartered Engineer status.</p><p>Interested in this position? please click “apply now”</p><p>We try to respond to all applicants, but sometimes this is not possible due to high volumes of applications; if you have not heard from us within 14 days, regrettably it means you have been unsuccessful on this occasion.</p><p>Company information:</p><p>This contract vacancy is being advertised by Rullion Ltd</p><p>Since 1978, Rullion has been securing exceptional candidates for a range of clients; from large well-known brands, to SMEs and start-ups.
