<p><strong>ROLE – Mechanical Design Engineer</strong></p><br>The following information aims to provide potential candidates with a better understanding of the requirements for this role.<br><p><strong>SALARY - £28,000-£30,000, dependent on experience</strong></p><p><strong>TYPE – Permanent</strong></p><p><strong>LOCATION – Bristol</strong></p><p>My client designs and manufactures bespoke products for Drainage solutions. They are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in the Bristol area on a permanent basis.</p><p><strong>The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:</strong></p><ul><li>At least 2 years of experience in a similar Mechanical Design Engineering position</li><li>Experienced with machinery design, hydraulics, sheet metal and precision components</li><li>Strong 3D CAD skills – ideally Inventor </li><li>Strong practical skills – hand calculations, verification, validation, FEA, testing, prototyping</li><li>Degree / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ / ONC qualified or similar in Mechanical Engineering or similar</li><li>Experienced designing products from concept to production</li><li>Able to manage projects and work to deadlines and budgets</li><li>Able to maintain technical documentation and BOM entry</li><li>Innovative, accurate and passionate about design</li><li>Be technically minded with a head for problem solving</li><li>Excellent leadership and organisational skills</li><li>Able to work well individually as well as part of a team</li></ul><p><strong>The Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:</strong></p><ul><li>Using CAD for concept design and producing technical drawings</li><li>Using Inventor software for design on a day-to-day basis</li><li>Being responsible for research, hand calculations, FEA, testing and prototyping</li><li>Managing the full product lifecycle xwzovoh from concept to production</li><li>Creating models/prototypes</li><li>Liaising with clients and developing solutions for design specifications</li><li>Collaborating with different departments to ensure the smooth delivery of projects</li><li>Maintaining technical drawings and documentation</li><li>Providing technical guidance and support</li><li>Supporting product Testing, Verification & Validation</li><li>Supporting more junior members of the team</li></ul><p>If you are interested in this position, please apply with an up to date CV as soon as possible.</p>
