Whatever part you play youll be helping us deliver operational excellence to our customers.<br><br>At our GKN Filton site, we specialise in the design and manufacture of large complex structural wing assemblies, detailed metallic componentsand wing systems for a combination of both civil and military aircraft.<br><br>GKN Aerospace are searching qualified fitters to express an interest in working with GKN to operate as multi-skilled, flexible workers to ensure maximum effectiveness and efficiency within our areas.<br><br>We are anticipating further uptake in the coming months and will be in touch to any successful applicants.<br><br>Successful applicants will have a wideknowledge of hand and machine tools used in the aircraft industry including: Precussion riveting Drill/Ream/Countersink in panels with Vanmar tools Setting structures in build jigs Deburring of structures Fettling using approved setting tools Treatment touch-up in localised areas on aluminium Use of CNC pillar drills (DONAU) Part Marking Identifying Profile description: How You'll Contribute Ensure parts are produced on a right first time basis Ensure that any calibrated equipment used is within date Responsible for the timely clearance of work phases using the SAP system Responsible for highlighting any non-conformance to the Process Team Leader Adhering to the requirements of the GKNAF Quality Procedures Accountable for Health & Safety requirements under Section 7 of the HASAWA 1974 To hold first party inspection approval (M02 status is subject to obtaining A stamp approval) What You'll Bring To help us make a difference, youll bring your passion and talent for what you do along with the following skills, experience, qualifications and attributes: Essential: Must have a recognised indentured apprenticeship (level 3) Export Control understanding and regulatory requirements Ability to work to standard operating procedures Desirable: Previous manufacturing experience in an aircraft production environment Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and techniques to support GKNAF continuous improvement initiatives We offer: What We'll Offer Once youre on board youll get the following perks and benefits: ?
