Your new company One of Northern Ireland's largest public sector authorities located in Co.<br><br>The information below covers the role requirements, expected candidate experience, and accompanying qualifications.<br><br>Armagh is seeking an experienced Building Services professional to oversee estates compliance on an interim basis for approximately nine months.<br><br>This is a key assignment for a compliance professional who can quickly take ownership of statutory estates obligations such as Fire Safety, Electrical & Gas Safety and Energy Efficiency and ensure the estate remains safe, legally compliant, and audit-ready.<br><br>Your new role This role will be on an initial interim contract for c.9 months, with the potential to extend or present a permanent job opportunity, reporting to the Estates Maintenance Manager.<br><br>You will act as the organisation's technical lead for statutory compliance across a diverse estate, covering Legionella management, Asbestos control, Fixed Wire Testing, Fire Safety, Gas Safety, LOLER, PUWER, and wider planned preventative maintenance.<br><br>The role requires someone confident stepping into a busy environment, stabilising compliance processes, and providing assurance to senior stakeholders.<br><br>Key responsibilities: Oversee all statutory estates compliance activities, ensuring full alignment with current legislation and best practice.<br><br>Manage programmes for Legionella monitoring, Asbestos surveys and management plans, Fixed Wire Testing, PAT testing, Fire Risk Assessments, Gas Safety inspections, and other mandatory checks.<br><br>Maintain accurate compliance records, certificates, and audit trails, ensuring documentation is complete and accessible.<br><br>Manage and monitor external contractors, ensuring high-quality delivery and value for money.<br><br>Review and strengthen policies, procedures, and safe systems of work.<br><br>Provide expert advice to operational teams and senior leaders on compliance risks and mitigation.<br><br>Lead internal audits, produce clear reports, and drive corrective actions.<br><br>What you'll need to succeed To be eligible for this position, you must have: A third level qualification (i.e.<br><br>HNC/HND, Level 4, Degree) in a relevant discipline/subject such as Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Building Services.<br><br>Knowledge of statutory estates' compliance.<br><br>Experience leading compliance programmes and managing external contractors.<br><br>It would be beneficial but not essential to have relevant qualifications such as IOSH/NEBOSH, BOHS P402, or Legionella Responsible Person training.<br><br>What you'll get in return This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience working in a public sector organisation where you will be given the chance to work on a wide range of maintenance and refurbishment projects of varying values.<br><br>This is a contract position to cover a vacant post.<br><br>£40,000<br>- £44,000 pro rata 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday 35 days annual leave including stat days.<br><br>What you need to do now If you're interested in this role, contact Michael Dickson on or click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV.<br><br>If this job isn't quite right for you, but you are looking for a new position, please contact us for a confidential discussion about your career. xwzovoh <br><br>Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and employment business for the supply of temporary workers.<br><br>By applying for this job you accept the T&C's, Privacy Policy and Disclaimers which can be Skills: Property Maintenance Mechanical Electrical Energy Estates Compliance<br>TPBN1_NI
