<p>Job Description</p><br>Read on to fully understand what this job requires in terms of skills and experience If you are a good match, make an application.<br><p>Electrically Biased Maintenance Engineer</p><p>Location: Newbury (commutable distance required)Salary: Up to £55,000 per annumHours: Mon–Thurs 8:00–16:00 | Fri 8:00–13:30 (earlier start available)Sector: Manufacturing</p><p>About the Role</p><p>We are recruiting an experienced Electrically Biased Maintenance Engineer to support a busy manufacturing site in Newbury. The role is hands-on, with a strong focus on electrical fault-finding, automation, preventive maintenance, and continuous improvement.</p><p>You will be the go-to electrical expert on site, supporting production, improving reliability, and upskilling the wider engineering team.</p><p>Key Responsibilities</p><ul><li>Electrical fault diagnosis and repair on production machinery, control panels, motors, drives, PLCs, and sensors</li><li>Preventive and predictive maintenance of electrical infrastructure, switchgear, MCCs, and instrumentation</li><li>Installation and commissioning of new machinery and control systems</li><li>PLC and automation support (Siemens, Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, HMIs, SCADA, networks)</li><li>Ensure compliance with BS 7671 and internal safety standards</li><li>Maintain accurate maintenance records, drawings, and documentation</li><li>Drive continuous improvement and equipment reliability initiatives</li><li>Train and support shift engineers</li><li>Manage contractors and liaise with suppliers</li></ul><p>Skills & Experience</p><ul><li>Strong electrical background in an industrial or manufacturing environment</li><li>Proven PLC and automation fault-finding experience</li><li>Confident working with 3-phase systems, VFDs, servo drives, and industrial networks (Profibus, AS-i, Ethernet)</li><li>Experience xwzovoh fault-finding electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems</li><li>Knowledge of CMMS, safety circuits, and performance levels desirable</li><li>Proactive, reliable, and calm under pressure</li></ul><p>Qualifications</p><ul><li>NVQ Level 4 (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or similar</li><li>18th Edition Wiring Regulations</li><li>7+ years’ industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience</li></ul><p>Working Environment</p><ul><li>Manufacturing environment with on-call requirements</li><li>Physical role including lifting and confined spaces</li></ul>
