<p><strong>POST TITLE:</strong> Workshop Technician / Trainer - Electrical<strong>LOCATION:</strong> North Kent<strong>HOURS:</strong> 35 hours per week<strong>CONTRACT:</strong> Full Time<strong>SALARY:</strong> Up to £37,075 per annum (plus potential Location Allowance £2,000 - £7,000)</p><p></p><p><strong>JOB PURPOSE:</strong></p><p>To support the delivery of high-quality electrical apprenticeship training through a dual role combining workshop management and practical training, preparing learners for AM2S end-point assessment and industry readiness.</p><p></p><p><strong>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></p><ul><li>Maintain a safe, organised and fully equipped workshop environment</li><li>Prepare materials, tools and training bays for practical sessions</li><li>Deliver AM2S preparation sessions and practical training</li><li>Provide one-to-one and group coaching to support apprentice development</li><li>Assess learner performance and identify skills gaps</li><li>Provide clear, constructive feedback to support progress</li><li>Promote high standards of behaviour, attendance and professionalism</li><li>Embed safeguarding, health & safety, equality and employability skills into training</li><li>Maintain workshop tools, equipment and compliance standards</li><li>Work collaboratively with tutors and training staff</li><li>Maintain accurate records of training activity and workshop resources</li><li>Keep technical knowledge up to date through CPD</li></ul><p></p><p><strong>PERSON SPECIFICATION</strong></p><p><strong>Essential:</strong></p><ul><li>Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation (or equivalent)</li><li>BS 7671 Wiring Regulations qualification</li><li>Inspection and Testing qualification (2391 or equivalent)</li><li>Relevant post-qualification industry experience</li><li>Strong communication and organisational skills</li><li>Practical maintenance skills within electrical environments</li></ul><p></p><p><strong>BENEFITS:</strong></p><ul><li>25 days annual leave plus bank holidays and Christmas shutdown</li><li>Pension scheme with employer contributions</li><li>Life assurance and occupational sick pay</li><li>Optional private healthcare</li><li>Gym membership discounts and cycle to work scheme</li><li>Employee Assistance Programme</li><li>CPD support and funded qualifications</li><li>Additional benefits including retail discounts and travel loans</li></ul><p></p><p><strong>Important Notice</strong></p><p>Dovetail and Slate is a specialist education recruitment company.
