Solution Architect

<p><strong>Solution Architect (Public Sector / Government Programme)</strong></p><p><strong>SFIA Level:</strong> 5/6<strong>Location:</strong> Telford (2 days per week initially, reducing to 2 days every 2 weeks once established)<strong>Duration:</strong> 6 months<strong>Rate:</strong> £625-£675 per day<strong>Clearance:</strong> SC Eligible</p><p><strong>Overview</strong></p><p>We are seeking an experienced <strong>Solution Architect</strong> to join a large-scale <strong>public sector transformation programme</strong>. This role will play a key part in driving solution design and delivery across a complex application modernisation initiative.</p><p>You will take ownership of end-to-end solution architecture, working closely with delivery teams and stakeholders to ensure solutions are robust, scalable, and successfully transitioned into live service.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Own the <strong>solution design</strong> throughout the full delivery lifecycle</li><li>Lead <strong>application modernisation initiatives</strong> within the wider programme</li><li>Drive the development and documentation of high-quality solution designs</li><li>Ensure all solutions align with <strong>architecture governance and best practices</strong></li><li>Collaborate with <strong>agile delivery teams and architects</strong> across all phases</li><li>Act as the <strong>technical authority</strong>, working through design decisions and challenges</li><li>Engage confidently with <strong>senior stakeholders (internal & external)</strong></li><li>Manage relationships with <strong>vendors and third-party providers</strong></li><li>Oversee technical problem resolution and ensure delivery aligns to agreed specifications</li></ul><p><strong>Skills & Experience</strong></p><ul><li>Proven experience as a <strong>Solution Architect</strong> within complex programmes</li><li>Strong background in <strong>application modernisation and cloud migration</strong></li><li>Experience working with both <strong>legacy systems and modern cloud ecosystems</strong></li><li>Knowledge of technologies such as:</li><ul><li>AWS, Azure</li><li>Kubernetes, HELM</li><li>Java, JavaScript</li><li>Oracle, MySQL</li></ul><li>Experience working in <strong>agile environments</strong> across full delivery lifecycles</li><li>Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to act as a <strong>trusted advisor</strong></li><li>Experience working within <strong>public sector or regulated environments</strong> (desirable)</li></ul><p></p><img src="https://www.jobg8.com/Tracking.aspx?Lvxcf8sYvdos3nW4lJGttEW528nj3Uven" width="0" height="0" />
