<strong>Job description</strong> Senior Occupational Therapist - Adult Social Care (Reablement Service) A local authority in East London is looking to recruit experienced Senior Occupational Therapists to support the launch of a <strong>brand new re-enablement service going live in June</strong>. This is a unique opportunity to be part of building a service from the ground up, promoting independence, resilience and wellbeing. You will play a key role in shaping practice, supporting complex cases and driving strengths-based interventions across the team.<strong>Main Duties:</strong><ul><li>Undertake complex Occupational Therapy assessments with a strong occupational focus</li><li>Lead on reablement and outcome-focused care planning for high-need cases</li><li>Provide guidance and oversight to junior staff and unregistered colleagues</li><li>Recommend and coordinate specialist equipment, major adaptations and assistive technology</li><li>Carry out advanced moving and handling assessments and risk management</li><li>Contribute to safeguarding processes and multi-agency working</li><li>Manage a complex caseload, prioritising in line with statutory responsibilities</li><li>Support service development and contribute to best practice within the new team</li></ul><strong>Requirements:</strong><ul><li>Diploma/BSc in Occupational Therapy</li><li>HCPC Registration</li><li>Extensive experience within Adult Social Care</li><li>Experience managing complex cases and supporting junior staff</li><li>Strong knowledge of reablement and moving & handling</li><li>Excellent communication and report writing skills</li><li>Enhanced DBS/CRB (we can assist)</li><li>Eligibility to work in the UK</li><li>Driving licence and access to a vehicle desirable</li></ul><strong>Benefits:</strong><ul><li>Opportunity to shape a brand new service</li><li>Ongoing training and CPD</li><li>Supportive multi-disciplinary environment</li><li>Flexible working opportunities</li><li>Competitive hourly rates</li></ul><strong>Why Join Our Agency?</strong> With over 10 years of experience in social care recruitment, Ackerman Pierce offers personalised service and consistent support.
