<p>Section Manager - Foundation Learning (SEND)</p><p><strong>Salary:</strong> £47,939 - £52,165 per annum (including London weighting)<strong>Hours:</strong> 36 hours per week, full year<strong>Location:</strong> North London<strong>Contract:</strong> Permanent</p><p>About the Role</p><p>We are seeking an experienced and inspiring <strong>Section Manager - Foundation Learning (SEND)</strong> to lead curriculum delivery and staff within a specialist Foundation Learning provision. This is a key leadership role, combining strategic curriculum management with a hands-on teaching commitment, supporting learners with a wide range of learning difficulties and disabilities, including SLD, PMLD and SEND pathways up to Entry and Level 1.</p><p>You will play a central role in ensuring high-quality provision, excellent learner outcomes, and a fully inclusive learning environment, while contributing to the continued development of SEND and supported employability programmes, including Supported Internships.</p><p>Key Responsibilities</p><ul><li>Lead, manage and develop Foundation Learning programmes, ensuring outstanding teaching, learning and assessment</li><li>Teach across Foundation Learning provision (up to 17 hours per week during term time)</li><li>Manage and support teaching, support and agency staff, acting as a role model for inclusive practice</li><li>Oversee curriculum planning, schemes of work, assessment schedules and awarding body requirements</li><li>Drive recruitment, retention, achievement and progression of SEND learners</li><li>Ensure implementation of employability, enrichment, SEND, Skills for Life and careers strategies</li><li>Monitor quality, performance data and targets, leading on continuous improvement</li><li>Support annual reviews for SEN learners and liaise with families, professionals and external agencies</li><li>Contribute to business, curriculum development and resource planning</li><li>Ensure safeguarding, health & safety and equality are embedded in all aspects of provision</li></ul><p>About You</p><p>You will be a passionate SEND professional with strong leadership experience and a commitment to inclusive education. You will bring:</p><p><strong>Essential</strong></p><ul><li>Degree-level qualification</li><li>Level 5 teaching qualification recognised in the FE sector (e.g. PGCE, DET or equivalent)</li><li>SENCO or Level 5+ SEND qualification</li><li>Proven experience teaching learners with SEND (minimum three years)</li><li>Strong knowledge of SEND Code of Practice and current FE SEND provision</li><li>Experience of Functional Skills and RARPA</li><li>Curriculum leadership or coordination experience</li><li>Team leadership and staff management experience</li><li>Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills</li><li>A strong commitment to safeguarding, equality and learner achievement</li></ul><p><strong>Desirable</strong></p><ul><li>Management qualification</li><li>Experience of Supported Internships and employability pathways for SEND learners</li></ul><img src="https://www.jobg8.com/Tracking.aspx?RINZcmghf3cYcZa%2fiIQnJY6GhZUlmhXGx" width="0" height="0" />
