<p>Salesforce Technical Architect (Hands-On)</p><p>Location: London (On-site - minimum 40% of time, non-negotiable)</p><p>Engagement Type: Full-time</p><p></p><p>1. Job Summary</p><p></p><p>We are seeking a hands-on Salesforce Technical Architect to provide architectural leadership across a Salesforce platform serving internal and external users in a regulated environment.</p><p>This role is explicitly hands-on. The Technical Architect is expected to:</p><ul><li>Define and document the right target architecture</li><li>Validate architectural decisions through directly executed Proofs of Concept (POCs)</li><li>Produce high-quality architecture artefacts for governance and design forums</li><li>Lead performance engineering and optimisation for a customised Salesforce org, with a strategic focus on transitioning to Salesforce out-of-the-box (OOB) capabilities wherever possible.</li></ul><p>This is not a purely advisory role, architecture documentation must be grounded in real, tested solutions proven through hands-on implementation.</p><p></p><p>2. Key Responsibilities</p><p></p><p>Architecture & Design Leadership</p><ul><li>Define end-to-end Salesforce solution architecture aligned to business needs, platform strategy, and regulatory constraints.</li><li>Own architecture artefacts including:</li><li>High-level and low-level design documents</li><li>Data model designs</li><li>Integration and security models</li><li>Present architecture proposals and design decisions to technical and governance forums.</li></ul><p>Hands-On Validation & POCs</p><ul><li>Design and build Proofs of Concept personally to validate architectural patterns, technical feasibility, and non-functional requirements.</li><li>Use outcomes from successful POCs to directly inform architecture documentation and design recommendations.</li><li>Assess platform constraints, risks, and trade-offs through hands-on experimentation.</li></ul><p>Governance & Standards</p><ul><li>Ensure architecture aligns with FCA governance, security, and compliance expectations.</li><li>Define and enforce architectural guardrails, patterns, and standards for Salesforce development teams.</li><li>Review significant technical designs and data model changes for architectural alignment and downstream impact.</li></ul><p>Collaboration & Delivery Support</p><ul><li>Work closely with Product Owners, Technical Leads, and delivery teams to ensure architecture is practical and deliverable.</li><li>Support teams during complex delivery phases, releases, or remediation activities.</li><li>Provide architectural guidance while remaining pragmatic and delivery-focused.</li></ul><p></p><p>3. Essential Skills & Experience</p><p></p><ul><li>Strong Salesforce technical architecture capability in enterprise-scale orgs.</li><li>Extensive hands-on experience designing and building solutions using:</li><li>Apex</li><li>Lightning Web Components</li><li>Salesforce configuration and data model design</li><li>Strong architectural knowledge of:</li><li>Salesforce platform architecture</li><li>Service Cloud and Experience Cloud</li><li>Security, identity, and access controls</li><li>Data model remediation and refactoring</li><li>Proven ability to produce clear, governance-ready architecture documentation.</li><li>Strong communication skills, able to explain complex technical concepts to senior and non-technical stakeholders.</li><li>Experience working within regulated or audit-heavy environments.</li></ul><p></p><p>4. Nice-to-Have</p><p></p><ul><li>Salesforce Certified Technical Architect (CTA) or progress toward CTA.</li><li>Experience supporting large-scale Salesforce transformations or remediation programmes.</li><li>Experience in financial services or public sector environments.</li></ul><p></p><p>5.
