<p>Salesforce Technical Lead / Salesforce Lead Developer</p><p>Location: London (On-site - minimum 40% of time, non-negotiable)</p><p>Engagement Type: Full-time</p><p></p><p>1. Job Summary</p><p></p><p>We are seeking a hands-on Salesforce Technical Lead / Lead Developer to provide day-to-day technical leadership within a scrum team delivering enhancements to a Salesforce org used by both internal and external users.</p><p>This role combines senior-level development capability with technical governance, code quality ownership, and delivery leadership. The successful candidate will lead by example: designing, building, reviewing, and deploying Salesforce solutions while ensuring alignment with FCA development standards and Salesforce best practices.</p><p>This is not a pure management role - the Technical Lead is expected to be actively coding, reviewing work, shaping technical decisions, and driving continuous improvement across the team.</p><p></p><p>2. Key Responsibilities (Day-to-Day)</p><p></p><p>Technical Leadership & Delivery</p><ul><li>Act as the technical lead within a scrum team delivering Salesforce configuration and custom development.</li><li>Lead solution design for stories and epics, ensuring designs are scalable, secure, and compliant with FCA standards.</li><li>Be hands-on in development across Apex, Lightning Web Components, configuration, and integrations where required.</li><li>Conduct Proofs of Concept (POCs) to validate technical approaches and de-risk delivery.</li></ul><p>Code Quality & Standards</p><ul><li>Own code quality across the team, ensuring adherence to Salesforce best practices and FCA development standards.</li><li>Review Apex, LWC, and configuration changes through structured peer reviews.</li><li>Ensure test execution, code coverage validation, and meaningful Apex test classes aligned to real business scenarios.</li><li>Ensure all work meets Definition of Done (DoD), including design artefacts and documented peer review.</li></ul><p>DevOps, Release & Governance</p><ul><li>Support deployments using agreed DevOps tooling (primarily Copado).</li><li>Identify release readiness activities, contribute to implementation plans, and support deployment rehearsals.</li><li>Participate in governance forums such as Release Readiness and Handover as required.</li><li>Ensure data model changes are approved, documented, and traceable.</li></ul><p>Agile & Team Responsibilities</p><ul><li>Actively participate in scrum ceremonies (stand-ups, refinement, sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives).</li><li>Challenge estimates constructively and provide informed input during planning.</li><li>Ensure items meet Definition of Ready (DoR) before entering sprint, raising issues early where needed.</li><li>Maintain visibility of technical risks, impediments, and improvement actions from retrospectives.</li></ul><p></p><p>3. Essential Skills & Experience</p><p></p><ul><li>Strong Salesforce technical leadership capability in enterprise environments.</li><li>Extensive hands-on experience with:</li><li>Apex</li><li>Lightning Web Components (LWC) / Aura</li><li>Salesforce configuration and data model design</li><li>Strong understanding of:</li><li>Salesforce architecture</li><li>Service Cloud</li><li>Experience Cloud</li><li>Salesforce Classic (where applicable)</li><li>Agentforce Public Services (and Omnistudio)</li><li>Good knowledge of DevOps processes and CI/CD in Salesforce environments.</li><li>Strong documentation skills, able to communicate designs to both technical and non-technical audiences.</li><li>Ability to collaborate effectively with Product Owners, testers, architects, and governance stakeholders.</li><li>Secure-by-design mindset, with consideration of data protection and regulatory controls.</li></ul><p></p><p>4. Nice-to-Have</p><p></p><ul><li>Experience working in regulated environments (financial services or government).</li><li>Additional Salesforce certifications beyond core requirements.</li><li>Experience supporting data model remediation or complex refactoring initiatives.</li></ul><p></p><p>5.
