<p><strong>Occupational Therapy Assistant</strong></p><p><strong>£30.81 per hour London Borough of Hackney</strong></p><p>Hackney Council is strengthening its Occupational Therapy and Reablement services to tackle a significant backlog and improve access to timely, person-centred support. We are expanding our frontline workforce to increase capacity, reduce delays, and help residents receive the essential equipment, adaptations and support they need.</p><p>We are seeking a committed <strong>Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA)</strong> to join our Adult Social Care service and play a key role in delivering high-quality, strengths-based interventions.</p><p><strong>About the Role</strong></p><p>As an OTA, you will work under the supervision of qualified Occupational Therapists to:</p><ul><li>Carry out strengths-based OT assessments</li><li>Complete reviews for residents receiving OT equipment or domiciliary care</li><li>Support the assessment and provision of specialist equipment and environmental adaptations</li><li>Deliver functional retraining, advice and interventions that promote safety and independence</li><li>Identify risks and contribute to safeguarding processes</li><li>Accurately record case notes and maintain high-quality documentation</li><li>Work collaboratively with service users, carers and a wide range of professionals</li></ul><p>You will also support Hackney's growing <strong>Reablement Service</strong>, including:</p><ul><li><strong>Reablement at Home</strong> - supporting residents discharged home with reablement potential</li><li><strong>Reablement Assessment Flats</strong> - providing short-term assessment accommodation at Rose Court and Leander Court</li></ul><p>This role is central to Hackney's ambition to move toward a <strong>Reablement First</strong> approach, offering short-term, independence-focused support to more residents.</p><p><strong>What We're Looking For</strong></p><ul><li>Experience completing OT or functional assessments</li><li>Strong communication and partnership-working skills</li><li>Ability to manage a varied caseload and work independently</li><li>Knowledge of the Care Act 2014, assistive technology and strength-based practice</li><li>Understanding of equipment, adaptations and the needs of adults with physical or sensory disabilities</li><li><strong>Trusted Assessor qualification</strong> (or willingness to obtain)</li></ul><p><strong>Why Join Hackney?</strong></p><ul><li>A service undergoing meaningful transformation</li><li>Supportive, multi-disciplinary team environment</li><li>Opportunities for ongoing development</li><li>Make a direct impact by helping reduce the borough's OT backlog</li><li>Contribute to pioneering reablement pathways</li></ul><p><strong>Ready to Make a Difference?</strong></p><p>If you're a motivated OTA or experienced support worker looking to step into a rewarding, developmental role - <strong>we'd love to hear from you.</strong></p><p><strong>Apply now and help us deliver timely, independence-focused support to Hackney residents.
