<p><strong>MECHANICAL MAINTENANCE ENGINEER</strong></p><p><strong>Job Title:</strong> Mechanical Maintenance Engineer<strong>Location:</strong> Wickford<strong>Salary:</strong> £45,000 - £54,000 </p><p><strong>Shift:</strong> 10:00pm - 6:00am (38 hours per week, ideally Monday-Friday - flexibility available)</p><strong>Job Role of the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer</strong><p>A fantastic opportunity has opened for a skilled <strong>Mechanical</strong><strong> Maintenance Engineer (80/20 max)</strong> join a stable, well-established manufacturing business known for its strong reputation and long-term job security. This is a company where engineers are valued, supported, and given the tools they need to perform at their best This is a newly created role to strengthen night-shift engineering coverage as the site continues significant investment and expansion.</p><p>Operating within a highly automated, COMAH-regulated manufacturing environment, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance across all production plant and site services.</p><p>Working as part of a three-engineer night-shift team (mechanical and electrical), you will play a key role in minimising downtime, improving Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), and driving continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability and maintenance efficiency.</p><p><strong>Sector - Factory Maintenance</strong></p><strong>Non-Negotiable Requirements of the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer</strong><p> Mechanical maintenance experience within an industrial manufacturing environment. Hands-on experience with pre-planned, reactive, and breakdown maintenance in a fast-paced factory. Multi-skilled capability with basic electrical competency (as you may be the sole engineer on shift at times).</p><strong>Essential Requirements for the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer</strong><p> Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills. Mechanical engineering qualification (apprentice trained preferred). Candidates without apprenticeship must hold strong relevant qualifications (NARIC approval considered). Experience working within a manufacturing environment.</p><strong>Desirable Requirements</strong><p> Experience working within the UK manufacturing sector. Exposure to continuous improvement, 5S, Health & Safety systems, and breakdown analysis.
