<strong>IT Operations Manager</strong><strong>Location:</strong> Hybrid - West Midlands (minimum 3 days on-site)<strong>Salary:</strong> £60,000 + benefits<strong>Overview</strong>We're working with a growing, technology-led organisation in the West Midlands looking to hire an IT Operations Manager to support and develop their IT function.This is a predominantly hands-on role with a strong focus on technical delivery across a Microsoft environment, alongside some team leadership responsibilities. You'll play a key role in ensuring the performance, security, and reliability of IT systems while contributing to ongoing improvements and projects.<strong>Key Responsibilities</strong><ul><li>Support and develop the IT Operations function, providing guidance to junior team members</li><li>Take ownership of day-to-day IT infrastructure operations within a Microsoft-focused environment</li><li>Manage Change and Incident Management processes to minimise disruption</li><li>Own the patching process across servers, endpoints, cloud, and network environments</li><li>Oversee Service Desk operations and ensure strong end-user support</li><li>Work closely with third-party vendors and technology partners</li><li>Drive continuous improvement across IT processes and service delivery</li><li>Support compliance and security-related initiatives</li><li>Contribute to infrastructure and cloud-related projects</li></ul><strong>Essential Skills & Experience</strong><ul><li>Proven experience in an IT Operations or Infrastructure-focused role</li><li>Strong hands-on technical expertise across Microsoft technologies, including:<ul><li>Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD)</li><li>Hyper-V</li><li>Microsoft Purview</li><li>Intune</li><li>Azure Networking</li></ul></li><li>Experience supporting Service Desk / IT support functions</li><li>Knowledge of Change and Incident Management processes</li><li>Strong communication skills and ability to work across technical and non-technical teams</li><li>Ability to take ownership and work independently</li><li>Eligibility for SC clearance</li></ul><strong>Desirable Experience</strong><ul><li>Azure certifications (e.g., AZ-104, AZ-305)</li><li>Familiarity with frameworks such as ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials+, or ITIL</li><li>Experience with Microsoft 365 / Azure environments and migrations</li></ul><strong>Personal Attributes</strong><ul><li>Proactive and detail-oriented</li><li>Strong problem-solving skills</li><li>Collaborative team player</li><li>Interest in mentoring and supporting others</li></ul><strong>Package & Benefits</strong><ul><li>Salary: £60,000</li><li>Pension scheme</li><li>Private healthcare</li><li>Flexible benefits (including cycle to work / EV schemes)</li><li>Ongoing training and development</li><li>Hybrid working (minimum 3 days on-site)</li></ul><img src="https://www.jobg8.com/Tracking.aspx?tnOcX87vYBvcacMuaDoaVK%2fqXrhkuE6vp" width="0" height="0" />
