Electro Mechanical Assembler / (Lathe preferred)

<p><strong>Job Title:</strong> Elector Mechanical Assembler / Lathe operative</p><p><strong>Location:</strong> St Albans</p><p><strong>Contract Length:</strong><strong>4 week temp vacancy - possible ongoing/temp to perm</strong></p><p><strong>Hours:</strong> Between <strong>7:30/8:00am - 5:00/5:30pm</strong> (flexible within this range)</p><p><strong>Department:</strong> Production / Engineering</p><p><strong>Reports To:</strong> Workshop Manager / Production Supervisor</p><strong>Overview</strong><p>We are seeking an experienced <strong>Lathe Mechanical Assembler</strong> for a short-term assignment in St Albans. This hands-on role involves mechanical assembly, and producing metal components to precise engineering standards and lathe work.</p><p>Ideal for someone with strong workshop experience who can hit the ground running.</p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong><strong>Mechanical Assembly</strong><ul><li>Assemble components, sub-assemblies, and full units</li><li>Fit, align, and test parts for correct operation</li><li>Carry out drilling, tapping, deburring, and general bench fitting</li><li>Ensure all finished parts meet quality standards</li></ul><strong>General Duties</strong><ul><li>Work safely and follow workshop procedures</li><li>Keep the workspace clean and organised</li><li>Communicate any issues or defects to supervisors</li><li>Collaborate with engineering and production teams</li></ul><strong>Lathe Operation</strong><ul><li>Set up and operate manual or semi-automatic lathes</li><li>Machine metal components to precise tolerances</li><li>Read and interpret detailed engineering drawings</li><li>Use precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges)</li></ul><strong>Skills & Experience Required</strong><ul><li>Strong mechanical assembly / bench-fitting skills</li><li>Ability to read technical drawings and work to tight tolerances</li><li>Good problem-solving ability and attention to detail</li><li>Proven experience operating a manual lathe preferred but not essential</li><li>Able to work independently with minimal supervision</li></ul><p></p><p>Adecco acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and an employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
