SENIOR SITE ENGINEER / MAJOR RAIL INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECT 🚧 📍 WF12 – West Yorkshire 🕒 Long-Term Contract – Minimum 6+ Months 💷 Excellent Rates Available 🚆 High-Profile Rail & Infrastructure Works An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Setting Out Engineer to join a major rail infrastructure project in West Yorkshire. This is your chance to be part of a fast-paced, technically challenging scheme delivering critical works within one of the UK’s most demanding infrastructure environments. We are looking for a driven individual with strong rail and/or highways experience who thrives under pressure, enjoys problem solving on live projects, and can confidently take ownership of engineering duties on site. This role offers long-term work, a strong pipeline of future projects, and the opportunity to work alongside one of the UK’s most respected civil engineering and infrastructure delivery teams — known for delivering complex earthworks, infrastructure, rail, highways, and major civil engineering projects nationwide. 🔧 THE ROLE You will play a key role in the successful delivery of rail infrastructure works, supporting the site team with accurate setting out, technical support, quality assurance, and day-to-day engineering responsibilities. Duties will include: • Setting out for infrastructure, drainage, earthworks, and associated civil engineering works • Reading and interpreting technical drawings and site information • Processing and working from 3D models and survey data • Carrying out site surveys and as-built records • Problem solving and providing engineering solutions on site • Liaising with site management, subcontractors, and delivery teams • Ensuring works are completed safely, accurately, and to specification • Supporting quality control and documentation processes • Assisting with planning and coordination of site activities ✅ REQUIREMENTS Essential: • Proven experience as a Setting Out Engineer / Site Engineer • Previous rail and/or highways experience • Strong setting out capability using modern surveying equipment • Experience processing models and interpreting technical data • Excellent problem-solving ability and proactive attitude • SSSTS or SMSTS certification • CSCS Card • Ability to work independently and within a team environment Desirable: • Experience on major infrastructure or rail projects • Knowledge of GPS / robotic instruments • Strong communication and organisational skills 🌟 WHAT’S ON OFFER? • Long-term contract work with minimum 6 months duration • Opportunity to work on a major rail infrastructure scheme • Competitive rates • Excellent team environment • Career-enhancing project exposure • Immediate starts available for the right candidate If you are an experienced engineer looking for your next challenge on a major infrastructure project, we want to hear from you.
