Senior Site Engineer

Freelance Site Engineer / Senior Site Engineer Groundworks, Structures & S278 Works Location: Hayes (West London) We are currently recruiting for an experienced Freelance Senior Site Engineer to join a major data centre project based near Hayes. This role is with a leading subcontractor delivering groundworks, structural works, and S278 infrastructure packages on a large-scale, high-profile scheme. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a technically demanding project with long-term work potential. Key Responsibilities: * Carry out and oversee accurate setting out for groundworks, structures, and S278 works * Manage and mentor site engineers and junior staff * Ensure QA processes are implemented and maintained across all works * Interpret and review technical drawings and specifications * Raise and manage RFIs and resolve on-site engineering issues * Liaise with site management, subcontractors, and client representatives * Maintain high standards of health, safety, and quality on site * Support delivery in line with programme requirements Requirements: * Strong experience in groundworks, RC/steel structures, and/or S278 works * Proven track record working on large-scale infrastructure or data centre projects * Excellent setting out and surveying skills * Confident managing engineering teams on site * Proficient with modern surveying equipment and software * CSCS card required (additional tickets advantageous) What’s on Offer: * Competitive freelance rates * Long-term opportunity on a flagship data centre project * Engineering instruments, laptop, and phone provided by the client * Payment via CIS (through a third-party payroll provider) If you’re a driven Senior Site Engineer looking to take on a key role within a major project, we’d love to hear from you.
