HGV Class 1 Driver - Skip Wagon

HGV Driver Class 1 (Skip Wagon) Location: Barnsley Start Times: Typically, between 2:00am and 5:00am (depending on site requirements) Hours: (Monday to Friday) ongoing work Salary: £18ph Overtime: Anything over 40 hours per week paid at time and a half About the Role: We are currently seeking a HGV Class 1 Driver operating Skip Wagons to join our client on an ongoing basis located in Barnsley. This role is ideal for a driver who enjoys variety in their work. You will be responsible for carrying out skip exchanges and collections at various sites. Start times and daily hours will vary depending on delivery site opening hours and the number of exchange requests. Key responsibilities: * Carry out skip deliveries, collections, and exchanges * Ensure safe and efficient loading/unloading of skips using hooks and chains * Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects * Communicate effectively with the transport manager and site staff * Adhere to all health, safety, and road regulations What we are looking for: * Valid Class 1 licence * Valid CPC and Tacho Card * Experience with skips (hooks and chains) preferred however not essential * Flexibility with start times and working hours Why work for Driver Hire: Driver Hire Doncaster is part of Driver Hire Nationwide, the UK’s largest specialist transport and logistics recruiter.
