Job description
*Job Purpose:*<p></p> To support older and disabled individuals across North Glasgow and Stirling develop essential digital skills, as part of a UK-wide training initiative funded by BT Group. <p></p> Visit the AbilityNet website to learn more about the role and our vision of a digital world accessible to all. <p></p>*Principal Accountabilities of the Digital Skills Trainer role:*<p></p>*Community Engagement, Outreach & Relationship Management*<p></p>* Proactively identify and engage with potential Community Partners - including charities, local authorities, healthcare providers, residential care services, and neighbourhood groups - to promote the benefits of AbilityNet’s Digital Skills Training programme. <br>* Plan, coordinate, and take part in outreach initiatives aimed at increasing community participation and raising awareness of digital training opportunities. <br>* Collaborate with local volunteers and corporate partners to enhance delivery and support for participants. <br>* Foster and maintain meaningful, long-term partnerships that support continued referrals and contribute to sustained community impact. <p></p>*Session Coordination: *<p></p>* Assist with organising and scheduling training sessions, including managing dates, times, and venues in collaboration with Community Partners to maximise attendance. <p></p>*Training Delivery:*<p></p>* Deliver group and one-to-one digital skills training sessions at various venues across your region. <br>* Deliver accessible online training sessions (via Zoom or Teams) to individuals and groups, where appropriate. <br>* Encourage and support learners to overcome digital barriers and engage with everyday technology such as smartphones, tablets, laptops, and other technology. <p></p>*Digital Skills Support:*<p></p>* Support individuals over 55 and / or disabled people to build confidence with core digital skills, including: <p></p>- Introduction to technology and the internet <p></p>- Using email and basic apps across Apple, Android, and Windows devices <p></p>- Online safety and confidence with everyday tech (e.g. smartphones, tablets, laptops)<p></p>*Impact Monitoring:*<p></p>* Ensure timely collection of registration forms and post-session surveys to assess training effectiveness and track project outcomes. <p></p>*Feedback & Evaluation:*<p></p>* Support the collection, analysis, and reporting of feedback and statistical data to help evaluate the effectiveness and impact of training sessions. <p></p>*Storytelling:*<p></p>* Assist in developing case studies to showcase individual journeys and demonstrate the programme’s real impact. <p></p>*Regional Flexibility:*<p></p>* Occasionally travel outside your region to support ad-hoc events and national engagement opportunities. <p></p>*Other Duties: *<p></p>* Carry out additional tasks aligned with the scope of the role, as directed by the Programme Officer or Manager. <p></p>*Knowledge, Skills and Experience required:*<p></p>* *Training and facilitation experience:* Proven experience of delivering group and 1:1 training or presenting to diverse audiences. <br>* *Outreach experience:* Experience of representing organisations externally, building effective relationships with other organisations or businesses and adapting outreach strategies to suit different contexts. <br>* *IT proficiency:* Strong digital literacy and IT skills, with confidence in using a wide range of technologies including Microsoft Office 365, Apple and Android devices, and associated technologies.
