Their innovative products and solutions not only deliver the infrastructure needed to support the UK economy today, but also help to create a more sustainable built environment for the future. </p><p> We are currently looking for an <b> Electrical Craftsperson </b> to join our Plant in East Lothian, conveniently located within commuting distance of Edinburgh and surrounding areas. </p><p> We are committed to creating a dynamic and inclusive working environment, and we welcome applications from people with a variety of backgrounds and experiences. </p><p></p> Main Responsibilities <br><br><p> Within the role of Shift Electrical Craftsperson, you will act as a key member of the 24/7 Maintenance team, focusing on electrical and process control equipment across the plant within a large-scale continuous process manufacturing environment. </p><p> You will play a key role in responding to plant breakdowns, fault finding, restoring equipment to service safely, and supporting operational reliability across the site. </p><p></p> Responsibilities include: <p></p><ul><li> Prioritising safety at all times, demonstrating a strong understanding of health, safety and environmental standards, electrical isolations, permit systems and safe working practices within a heavy industrial environment. </li><li> Responding to electrical breakdowns and carrying out fault finding, diagnostics and repairs on plant equipment in a safe and timely manner. </li><li> Applying existing knowledge or quickly developing expertise in a wide range of equipment, including instrumentation, PLCs, DCS/SCADA systems, LV & HV motors, switchgear, motor control centres, control gear, AC & DC systems, variable speed drives, industrial communications systems and specialised control panels. </li><li> Carrying out systematic electrical fault finding across power, control and process systems within a live production environment. </li><li> Performing planned preventative maintenance and routine inspections during shift periods. </li><li> Assisting operations teams in identifying and resolving plant reliability and process issues. </li><li> Supporting shutdown activities and major maintenance works across the site. </li><li> Working across a large industrial site including outdoor plant areas, substations, elevated structures and dusty process environments. </li><li> Maintaining accurate maintenance records and communicating plant issues effectively during shift handovers using modern mobile CMMS systems. </li><li> Being flexible within a shift pattern and supporting operational requirements during breakdown and shutdown situations. </li></ul><p></p> The Ideal Candidate <p></p><ul><li> Experience as a trained Electrical Maintenance Engineer </li><li> Experience within a heavy industrial or continuous process manufacturing environment would be beneficial </li><li> Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic capability within a live production environment. </li><li> Experience with PLCs, industrial control systems and process instrumentation. </li><li> Experience working on HV/LV systems, motors, drives, switchgear and MCCs. </li><li> Understanding of electrical safety rules, permit-to-work systems and isolation procedures. </li><li> Ability to work calmly and effectively under operational pressure. </li><li> Strong team-working skills with the ability to work independently during shift operations. </li><li> Good communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate effectively with production and maintenance teams. </li></ul><p></p> Desirable Experience <p></p><ul><li> Siemens PLC or DCS experience. </li><li> Experience with inverter drives. </li><li> Experience with Profibus, Profinet or industrial communications systems. </li><li> Experience working within a maintenance environment. </li></ul>
