You're a senior electrical designer ready to lead, not check
Appcast
📍 London, GB
Job description
You're a senior electrical design engineer, and somewhere along the line your job became checking other people's work instead of doing your own best work. That is a waste of you. This role is with a multi disciplinary design practice in central London where the engineers sit in the same studio as the architects, surveyors and project managers. Decisions that take a fortnight of emails elsewhere happen here in a conversation by the kitchen. The electrical team is growing on the back of a strong workload, which is why this seat is open. You lead electrical design on your own projects from concept to completion: schemes, calculations, specifications, and the client meetings where your design gets defended by the person who actually drew it. You also help bring on the engineers behind you, which is the part of seniority the job title never mentions. The projects span workplace, residential, education and public buildings, mostly in and around London, so the portfolio you build here reads like a tour of the city rather than one repeated typology. Fee levels support doing the job properly, which is rarer than it should be and immediately obvious in the quality of the output. If your current firm files you under resource rather than designer, this is the correction. Salary is between £58,000 and £75,000.Send a CV or just say hello. A conversation costs nothing and might change your year.If you've read this far and you're still unsure and would prefer a detailed market insight including salary bands and market trends - then check out our free guide here:
