Job description
Most senior electrical engineer roles trade off scope against support. This one keeps both. This is a Senior Electrical Engineer position with a building services and engineering practice based in London, with the project diversity that location suggests. The work is electrical design across LV power, lighting, small power, containment, and life safety systems. You will run load calculations, drive Revit electrical models, and coordinate with mechanical and public health on the points where electrical sits next to everything else. You are chartered or close to it, with strong UK consultancy experience and the project-running judgement that comes with it. You can carry a scheme from concept through to delivery, manage clients and contractors without rescue, and develop the engineers around you.The shape of the role is deliberately broad. One month the emphasis might be a commercial fit out with an unforgiving programme, the next a scheme where the life safety strategy is the hard problem. What stays constant is that you hold the design, you front the coordination, and the engineers coming up behind you learn from watching how you run it. That is the job, and it is the whole job.Salary: £58,000 to £75,000 depending on experience. Working pattern: on-site, full time, based in London.Send your CV to Danny Main at Responsum for a 20-minute call this week.If you’ve read this far and you’re still unsure and would prefer a detailed market insight including salary bands and market trends - then check out our free guide here: https://www.responsumltd.com/uk-salary-guide-2026
