Level 3-qualified HGV Technician, Plant Fitter or Agricultural Engineer
looking for greater variety, specialist training and a potential long-term career within defence engineering? We are recruiting for an experienced engineer to maintain and repair a specialist fleet of
military vehicles, heavy plant and material-handling equipment . You do not need previous military experience. If you have worked on
HGVs, agricultural machinery, construction equipment, forklifts or other heavy plant , your skills could transfer extremely well. An Excellent Overall Package
£37,791 basic salary Additional £3,000 bonus for maintaining Sponsored Reserve status Time and a half for qualifying hours worked between
Monday 06:00 and Saturday 23:59 Double time for qualifying hours worked between
Saturday midnight and Monday 05:59 Bank holidays paid at double time, plus the normal statutory payment for the day worked Minimum

permanent contract The HGV Technician / Plant Fitter Role
You will help keep a varied defence fleet safe, reliable and operational. Your responsibilities will include: Servicing and repairing diesel and electric plant and material-handling equipment Maintaining military and commercial vehicles Diagnosing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and powertrain faults Investigating breakdowns and identifying their root cause Completing effective repairs and replacing faulty components Carrying out inspections, safety checks and functional testing Working on vehicles and equipment adapted for specialist military use Completing accurate service records and technical documentation What Were Looking For

To be considered, you must have: A relevant
Level 3 apprenticeship, City & Guilds or NVQ qualification Experience maintaining HGVs, plant, agricultural machinery or heavy equipment Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills Experience with hydraulics, vehicle electrics, diagnostics or powertrain systems An
HGV Category C driving licence Sponsored Reserve Opportunity
Successful candidates will receive training to become a
Sponsored Reserve , supporting a major UK defence contract as a specially trained member of the Army Reserve. Maintaining Sponsored Reserve status attracts an additional
£3,000 bonus
and provides the opportunity to secure a permanent contract. The training and commitment involved will be fully explained during the recruitment process.
