Job description
What You Will DoAs a Fire & Security Design Engineer, you will provide technical design support across Fire and/or Security projects during the delivery phase, ensuring solutions remain compliant, practical, and aligned to client requirements. Working in a hybrid environment (2 days per week in the office), you will collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, Installers and customers to review designs, manage technical changes, resolve project queries, and support successful project delivery from post-design through to completion.What We OfferCompetitive salary10% performance-based bonus planHybrid working with flexibility around office days25 days annual leave plus bank holidaysOption to buy up to 10 additional days of annual leaveCompany pension with up to 7% employer contributionLife assuranceEmployee Assistance ProgrammeEmployee referral schemeCycle to Work schemeEmployee discounts and discounts on Johnson Controls productsOngoing training and career development opportunitiesSupportive, collaborative and safety-focused cultureHow You Will Do ItProvide technical support across Fire and/or Security projects during the delivery phase.Review and develop design information to support successful project execution.Ensure designs and technical documentation comply with relevant standards, specifications and customer requirements.Support compliance with BS5839-1 and other applicable industry standards.Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, Installers, customers and other stakeholders to resolve technical queries.Review, coordinate and implement design changes throughout the project lifecycle.Produce and update technical drawings and documentation using AutoCAD and Revit.Support the production of as-built drawings and project handover documentation.Attend project meetings and site visits to support design delivery and resolve technical issues.Manage multiple projects and priorities while meeting agreed deadlines.Identify opportunities to improve design quality, efficiency and project delivery.Communicate technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.What We Are Looking ForMinimum 5 years' experience in a Fire and/or Security post-design engineering role.Strong technical knowledge of Fire or Security systems, with experience supporting projects through delivery.Knowledge of BS5839-1 and relevant industry standards or best practice.Experience working on projects valued at 500k+.Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.Experience working within fast-paced, collaborative project environments.Must have continuously resided in the UK for the previous 5 years to meet security vetting requirements.#LI-JB3#LI-HybridSummaryLocation: Manchester-Manchester-United Kingdom; Sunbury-on-Thames-Surrey-United Kingdom; Glasgow-Glasgow-United Kingdom; Birmingham-Midlands-United KingdomType: Full time
