/n Hays are working exclusively with a highly profitable UK subsidiary of an overseas listed corporation as they look to recruit an Assistant Financial Controller to cover a period of upcoming maternity leave. Our client is a world-renowned manufacturer and known for its innovative technology and high-quality products.
/n Your new role
/n This is a hands-on, all-encompassing number two role where you will be responsible for supporting the Financial Controller across key areas of day-to-day finance.
/n Key duties:
/n
/n
- Preparation and review of monthly accounts
/n
- Preparation and review of consolidated quarterly reporting
/n
- Preparation of statutory accounts and support with year-end audit
/n
- Business partnering with other departments e. Sales
/n
- Calculation and review of customer HP agreements
/n
- Assist with the annual budgeting process
/n
- Preparation and review of VAT returns
/n
- Supervision of transactional staff
/n
/n
What you'll need to succeed
/n
/n
- Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or QBE
/n
- Previous experience in day-to-day accounting roles, ideally gained in a mix of SMEs and larger businesses
/n
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines
/n
- Proactive approach to work and confident suggesting changes/improvements
/n
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to work well with a wide range of staff
/n
- Strong Excel skills and proficient with ERP systems
/n
/n
What you'll get in return
/n In return, you will receive a competitive salary of up to £55,000 per annum (depending on experience and qualification) and be given the opportunity to work within a globally recognised organisation. Due to the nature of the role and business, you will be comfortable working from the office 5 days a week.
