We support government and private sector clients on tackling some of today’s biggest challenges including decarbonising the economy, driving economic growth and promoting inward investment by advising on the UKs largest infrastructure programmes.We are focused on growing our practice as we respond to the UK’s infrastructure agenda and in particular large Government led infrastructure programmes. We are looking for a motivated and passionate Assistant Director (Senior Manager) to join us in our London or regional offices; Manchester, Bristol or Scotland, supporting Directors and Partners in developing clients and identifying new opportunities.We want you to support our vibrant business and support our teams delivering exciting projects which will stretch your skills and expand your knowledge. You’ll be part of a growing and dynamic team facing some of the most complex projects across the UK public sector, delivering economic and social infrastructure that will underpin UK economic growth, sustainability and generational social benefit, and helping us to deliver our purpose of building a better working world.Your key responsibilitiesLeading small and dynamic teams to provide expert financial, commercial and strategic advice to clients, both on transactions and financial strategyDeveloping and nurturing a network across the sector to support business development activityHelping our clients make informed and robust evidence-based decisions through option appraisalsOverseeing and challenging complex financial models, including financing structures, affordability, value-for-money, sensitivity and scenario analysisDeveloping debt and equity competition processes, including lender engagement, assessment criteria, market sounding, term sheet development and financing documentationStructuring and advising on procurements, including evaluating bids received for projects on behalf of project sponsors and helping sponsors drafting bids for the provisions infrastructure investmentPresenting impactful reports to senior client stakeholders to facilitate effective decision makingDriving key business development activities, including EY’s wider growth strategiesLeading and taking ownership of origination and salesContributing to sector thought leadership and helping shape EY's perspective on the financing of major transactions.Building and maintaining senior client relationships across Government and the private sector.Supporting the development and coaching of junior team members. Skills and attributes for successWhat we look forAn understanding of project finance and privately financed infrastructure, including debt/equity structures, risk allocation, procurement models and investor/lender requirementsAn understanding of UK infrastructure markets, including regulated asset models, RAB, PPP/concession and availability-based structuresAbility to lead complex client engagements, manage senior stakeholders and make sound commercial judgementsAbility to interpret complex financial analysis and challenge modelling outputs to support strategic client decisionsBusiness development capability, including relationship development and proposal leadershipStrong team leadership, coaching and project management capabilityHigh-quality written and verbal communication, including board-level reports and senior stakeholder presentationsThe ability to thrive in a flexible working environment as part of a diverse and dynamic teamIdeally, you’ll also haveAn advanced professional financial qualification e.g. CIPFA, CA, ACA, CFA, MBAExtensive practical experience within the UK public/infrastructure sectorsWhat we offer youFlexibility and work-life balanceCareer development opportunities, including comprehensive training and development programmes, access to vast network of likeminded professionalsCompetitive Benefits Packages, including competitive salary, discretionary bonus scheme, private healthcare, matched pension contributionsA diverse and inclusive team cultureWe will fuel your ambition and potential with future-focused skills development that equips you with state-of-the-art methodologies and technology-enabled solutions.
