SEN English Teacher - Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire
QTS Required| KS1/KS2 Curriculum | Specialist Setting
SEN English Teacher opportunity in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire, working with pupils with additional needs across a specialist education setting.
SEN English Teacher required in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire for a specialist setting supporting pupils with a wide range of special educational needs - This opportunity would suit a QTS Teacher with Primary and SEN experience who is confident adapting English teaching to pupils working predominantly at a KS1 and KS2 level.
The Setting
This is a specialist educational environment supporting pupils with a range of additional needs. Many pupils have moderate learning difficulties, while a large proportion also have additional needs including:
Speech, language and communication difficulties
Sensory impairment
Physical difficulties
Other learning difficulties and disabilities
Additional educational and support needsThe curriculum is adapted to individual learning profiles, with an emphasis on developing communication, independence, confidence and academic progress.
The Role
You will be responsible for planning and delivering English lessons that are accessible, engaging and appropriately differentiated for pupils working at a KS1 and KS2 level.
Key responsibilities include:
Teaching English across a range of ability levels
Planning lessons around individual pupil needs
Differentiating work and resources effectively
Supporting literacy development and communication
Working alongside support staff and other professionals
Monitoring progress and adapting teaching accordingly
Maintaining clear expectations around behaviour and learning
Contributing to a positive and consistent classroom environment
What we are looking for...
QTS
Primary teaching background preferred
Previous SEN experience
Experience teaching English or literacy at KS1/KS2 level
Strong understanding of differentiation and adaptive teaching
Patient, consistent and clear approach to classroom management
Ability to build positive professional relationships with pupils and colleagues
