Bricklayer

Belmont Recruitment are currently looking for a Bricklayer to join Sheffield City Council on an initial 3 month temporary contract. This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Key Responsibilities * Laying Masonry: Lay bricks and blocks accurately using mortar as a binder. * Reading Plans: Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and site specifications. * Preparation: Mix mortar and set out the initial rows, corners, and damp-proof courses. * Alignment: Use spirit levels, plumb lines, and laser levels to check horizontal and vertical alignment. * Cutting and Shaping: Trim and shape bricks using hand tools, chisels, or power saws. * Repair and Restoration: Repoint damaged mortar joints and restore old brickwork.
