CNC Laser Operator (Training Provided)

GKR Sheet Metal Ltd is looking for a reliable, enthusiastic and hardworking individual to join our team as a CNC Laser Operator. Full training will be provided on our new 6kW Fibre Laser, making this an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start a career in sheet metal fabrication and manufacturing.

No previous CNC laser experience is required. We're looking for someone with a positive attitude, a willingness to learn and a strong work ethic.

This is a hands-on role in a busy manufacturing environment and involves manual handling, lifting sheet metal and working with recently cut materials that may still be hot. Appropriate training and PPE will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Loading sheetmetal onto the CNC laser machine.
• Setting up, nesting and running cutting jobs.
• Removing completed components and scrap material.
• Cleaning and finishing laser-cut parts.
• Separating and disposing of scrap materials correctly.
• Booking materials and completed jobs into the system.
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised work area.
• Helping ensure production schedules are met.

• Ability to work as part of a team.
• An interest in engineering, manufacturing or fabrication is desirable but not essential.

Hours

Monday to Friday
8:00am 4:30pm

Overtime may be available when required.

Pay

A six-month probationary period will be paid at the applicable National Minimum Wage. Following successful completion of the probation, pay will be reviewed and increased based on performance and experience.
