Mobile Mechanical Engineer

We're recruiting for a Mobile Mechanical Engineer to join our growing team, supporting a portfolio of schools and community healthcare properties across Birmingham.

• Salary from £38,000 (depending on experience)
• Company vehicle
• Permanent, full-time position (37.5 hours per week)
• Shift pattern:
  • Week 1: Monday-Friday, 6:00am-2:00pm
  • Week 2: Monday-Friday, 10:00am-6:00pm
• On-call rota
• Ongoing training and career progression

As a Mobile Mechanical Engineer, you'll work across multiple school and healthcare sites, ensuring mechanical systems remain safe, compliant, and fully operational.

Your duties will include:

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on HVAC, boilers, pumps, heating, ventilation and water systems.
• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults.
• Completing reactive maintenance and breakdown repairs.
• Undertaking minor mechanical installations and upgrades.
• Identifying and ordering replacement parts.
• Maintaining accurate job records using CAFM systems.
• Ensuring all work complies with health and safety regulations.

You'll ideally have:

• NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds qualification in Plumbing or a relevant mechanical discipline.
• A recognised engineering apprenticeship.
• Previous experience within a building maintenance or facilities management environment.
• A full UK driving licence.
• Experience working within education, healthcare or large estate environments (desirable).
• Competent Person/Authorised Person experience relating to ventilation and/or pressure systems (desirable).
• The ability to successfully pass an Enhanced DBS with Barred Lists check.
