Location: Manchester, UK
Rate: £21.00 per hour (CIS) - Rate Dependant on Experience

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a valued client for an experienced Heritage Joiner to join a growing team working on prestigious conservation and restoration projects across historic and listed buildings.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled tradesperson who takes pride in traditional craftsmanship and has a passion for preserving the built environment.

The Role

You will be involved in a variety of heritage and ecclesiastical projects, carrying out high-quality joinery and restoration work using traditional materials and methods.

Key responsibilities include:

• Repairing and restoring historic timber features and structures
• Manufacturing and installing bespoke joinery including doors, windows, mouldings, and panelling
• Carrying out timber repairs using appropriate conservation techniques
• Working with hardwoods, softwoods, and traditional materials to match existing fabric
• Interpreting drawings and specifications to produce accurate work
• Working across workshop and site environments
• Adhering to health and safety standards while using hand and power tools

About You

Essential:

• Proven experience in joinery, carpentry, or heritage restoration works
• Strong understanding of traditional joinery methods and timber repairs
• Experience working on historic or listed buildings
• Excellent attention to detail and pride in high-quality workmanship
• Ability to interpret drawings and specifications accurately
• Confident working at height and on active construction sites
• Reliable, professional, and able to work independently or within a team

Desirable:

• Experience working in line with recognised conservation principles or heritage standards
