This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer who wants to remain technically hands-on while taking on additional responsibility for supporting and mentoring junior engineers.
A strong electrical background or electrical bias would be particularly advantageous.
The Role You will carry out a mixture of installation, commissioning, servicing, maintenance and fault finding across: Fire Alarm Systems CCTV Access Control Intruder Alarms Emergency Lighting Integrated Security Systems As a senior member of the team, you will also provide technical support to other engineers, assist with complex fault diagnosis and help develop junior engineers through coaching and mentoring.
What We're Looking For Proven experience as a Fire & Security Engineer Strong knowledge across Fire Alarm and Security systems Experience with service, maintenance, installation and/or commissioning Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills Good electrical knowledge Confidence providing technical guidance to other engineers Previous mentoring or supervisory experience advantageous Strong customer-facing and communication skills Full UK driving licence Based within a reasonable travelling distance of Reading Salary & Benefits Competitive salary depending on experience Weekly call-out retainer Overtime paid at time-and-a-half Double time on Sundays Fully expensed company van Private healthcare Life insurance Company pension Employee Assistance Programme Ongoing technical training Career development and progression opportunities This position would suit an experienced Fire & Security Engineer, Senior Fire & Security Engineer, Fire Alarm Engineer or Security Systems Engineer looking for a technically varied role with increased responsibility and excellent earning potential.
