The Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Electrical Project Manager to oversee the successful delivery of electrical projects from initial planning through to completion. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing project delivery, budgets, programmes, quality, health and safety, and client relationships, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
This role requires excellent leadership, commercial awareness, and technical knowledge, with the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and manage project teams effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Manage electrical projects from pre-construction through to handover and final account.
Develop and maintain project programmes, ensuring key milestones are achieved.
Prepare and monitor project budgets, forecasts, and financial performance.
Manage procurement of materials, plant, subcontractors, and labour resources.
Lead project meetings with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams.
Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
Identify and manage project risks, issues, and opportunities.
Oversee design coordination and resolve technical queries.
Monitor project progress and produce regular reports for senior management.
Ensure contractual obligations are met and variations are managed appropriately.
Build and maintain strong client relationships to encourage repeat business.
Coordinate commissioning, testing, and project handover documentation.
Mentor and support site managers, supervisors, and engineers where appropriate.
Skills and Experience
Essential Requirements
Proven experience as an Electrical Project Manager within the construction or building services sector.
Strong knowledge of electrical installations and project delivery.
Experience managing projects from inception to completion.
Good understanding of construction contracts and commercial management.
Excellent organisational and time management skills.
Strong communication and leadership abilities.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management software.
Full UK driving licence.
Desirable Qualifications
HNC/HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme).
ECS/CSCS Management Card.
IOSH or NEBOSH Health & Safety qualification.
PRINCE2, APM, or equivalent project management qualification (desirable).
