Job Title: Electrical Commissioning Engineer
Location: Based out of the Southampton office, with field-based responsibilities across the UK. (Travel required).
Hours: 37.5 per week, MondayFriday (site-based role with flexibility required)
Salary: £48,000 - £55,000 per annum
Role Overview
We are seeking an Electrical Commissioning Engineer to support the testing and commissioning of electrical systems across power stations, wind farms, and BESS projects.
This is a hands-on role covering installation, commissioning, and handover, ensuring systems are safely energised, tested, and compliant.
Key Responsibilities
Commissioning, testing, and fault finding on LV/MV/HV systems
Interpret schematics and technical drawings
Commission control systems, panels, and protection devices
Support renewable energy projects (wind, BESS)
Pre-commissioning checks, testing, and verification
Ensure H&S and regulatory compliance
Produce test records and handover documentation
Liaise with customers, project teams, and subcontractors
Support FAT/SAT activities
Represent the business on site
Essential Requirements
Qualifications
NVQ Level 3 / HNC / HND in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
Electrical apprenticeship or relevant training
Full UK driving licence
Experience
Electrical or Commissioning Engineer background
Industrial, power, or renewable experience
Control panels, switchgear, protection systems
Site-based commissioning xwzovoh experience
Skills
Strong health & safety awareness
Good communication skills
Ability to work independently and in teams
Willingness to travel and stay away
Desirable
HV Authorised / SAP status
Offshore tickets (GWO, BOSIET, HUET)
18th Edition
Wind, power, or BESS experience
SCADA/control systems knowledge
Core Competencies
