Morson are recruiting on behalf of a leading engineering organisation supporting the UK nuclear industry for an EC&I Project Engineer to join their established team at Heysham Nuclear Power Station .
This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in delivering engineering projects that support one of the UK's critical nuclear generation sites. Working within a highly regulated environment, you'll be responsible for delivering Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.

The Role
As an EC&I Project Engineer , you'll support the successful delivery of engineering and construction projects across the station, working closely with Project Managers, Construction Managers and station engineering teams.
Your responsibilities will include:
Producing and maintaining engineering documentation, technical specifications and quality plans
Managing technical queries throughout the project lifecycle
Supporting contractor selection and contract award activities
Reviewing contractor designs, drawings and technical documentation
Carrying out feasibility studies, technical assessments and site surveys
Preparing Engineering Changes and managing associated documentation
Supporting commissioning activities and acting as Test Team Leader where appropriate
Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme and within quality expectations
Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams across engineering, construction and operations
What We're Looking For
We're looking for engineers with experience delivering projects within highly regulated industries.
Ideally you'll have:
HND, Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical, Control & Instrumentation or related engineering discipline
Chartered Engineer status or working towards professional registration (desirable)
Experience delivering engineering or construction projects
Knowledge of engineering documentation, technical specifications and change control
Experience working within safety, environmental and quality management systems
Understanding of CDM Regulations and construction project delivery
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
SMSTS qualification (desirable)
Formal project management qualification (advantageous)
Previous experience within nuclear, power generation or other highly regulated industries would be beneficial, although candidates from sectors such as oil & gas, defence, pharmaceuticals, utilities or petrochemical are also encouraged to apply.
