Contract Type: Permanent | Full-Time
Salary: NHS Consultant Payscale + On-Call Supplement
Kettering General Hospital is recruiting a Consultant Haematologist to join its established and collaborative Haematology team within the University Hospitals of Northamptonshire NHS Group.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing department delivering both malignant and non-malignant haematology services within a supportive multidisciplinary environment, with strong links to Leicester and regional tertiary services.
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality inpatient, outpatient, and laboratory haematology services while contributing to teaching, research, governance, and future service development.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver comprehensive clinical haematology care across inpatient and outpatient services
Lead consultant-led ward rounds and specialist haematology clinics
Participate in MDT meetings, transfusion support, and laboratory haematology services
Support teaching and supervision of junior doctors and undergraduate students
Contribute to audit, governance, quality improvement, and service development initiatives
Participate in the 1:4 consultant on-call rota
What We’re Looking For:
Full GMC Registration with Licence to Practise
MRCP (UK) or equivalent
FRCPath or equivalent qualification
Inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register in Haematology (or within 6 months of CCT/CESR)
Broad clinical and laboratory haematology experience
Strong communication, leadership, and MDT working skills
