<p>Looking for more than just another Farm Manager role? </p><p>This is an opportunity to combine practical farm management with developing and inspiring the next generation entering the agricultural industry. </p><p>An established and forward-thinking land based organisation is seeking a Farm Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of its commercial farming and livestock enterprises. </p><p>This is a unique opportunity to join a highly regarded business where farming, education and industry engagement work closely together. </p><p>The farm plays a central role in supporting practical learning and student development, so the successful individual will need to be equally comfortable managing farming operations and working with people. </p><p>Significant investment has been made into the farming operation and its future development, and the business is now looking to appoint a strong working farm manager who can continue building on this progress while creating an excellent working and learning environment. </p><p>The Role </p><p>You will take responsibility for the overall management of the farm and livestock enterprises, including: </p><ul><li>Overseeing all day-to-day farm operations (arable and livestock) </li><li>Managing livestock enterprises to high technical and welfare standards </li><li>Leading and supporting a small on-farm team </li><li>Working alongside teaching and support staff to facilitate practical training </li><li>Creating a safe, organised and student-focused environment </li><li>Managing budgets, cashflows, compliance, record keeping and grant applications </li><li>Driving strong health & safety standards across the business </li><li>Supporting practical work experience and hands-on learning opportunities </li><li>Representing the farm within the wider agricultural industry </li> </ul><p>This role requires someone who can balance commercial farming priorities with a positive and supportive approach to working with students and colleagues. </p><p>The Person </p><p>The business is open-minded on background and level of previous management experience. Attitude, communication skills and leadership potential are just as important as technical ability. </p><p>You will ideally have: </p><ul><li>Strong practical farming experience </li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills </li><li>A hands-on and approachable management style </li><li>The ability to build relationships across a range of stakeholders </li><li>Good organisational and planning ability </li><li>A strong understanding of health & safety and animal welfare </li><li>An interest in developing and supporting the next generation entering the industry </li> </ul><p>Previous experience within a training, education or demonstration farm environment would be advantageous, but is not essential. </p><p>Additional Information </p><ul><li>On-site accommodation available </li><li>A genuine opportunity to influence the future direction of a growing and well-supported farming enterprise </li> </ul><p>For more information or a confidential discussion, please get in touch with me, Hannah, on or email me </p>
