<p><strong>Supplier Quality Engineer ( 617/ 25182) </strong> </p><p><strong>Plymouth, Devon - easily commutable from Ivybridge, Saltash, Tavistock, Newton Abbot, Torquay, Exeter, Paignton, Liskeard and surrounding areas.<br /> £38,000 - £50,000 + Excellent Benefits<br /> Monday to Friday role </strong> </p> <p><strong>Company Overview </strong> </p><p>I'm working with a long‑established global manufacturer supplying high‑performance products and infrastructure solutions to some of the world's biggest technology organisations. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a talented Supplier Quality Engineer to join their Supply Chain & Quality function. </p> <p>This is an exciting opportunity to develop your career within a highly respected engineering and manufacturing environment, contributing directly to product quality, supplier capability and continuous improvement. </p> <p><strong>The Role </strong> </p> <p>As Supplier Quality Engineer, you will work closely with suppliers, commodity buyers and internal teams to ensure components meet stringent technical, quality and compliance requirements </p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities </strong> </p> <ul><li>Lead PPAP activities for the introduction of new parts </li><li>Resolve supplier quality issues and implement suitable controls </li><li>Conduct root cause analysis and drive corrective and preventive actions </li><li>Support supplier development through UK-based site visits </li><li>Assist in identifying and approving new suppliers </li><li>Carry out on-site and remote supplier audits </li><li>Build a strong understanding of supplier manufacturing processes </li><li>Manage nonconformance investigations and rejection processes </li><li>Ensure material compliance and review detailed material content data </li><li>Review and submit supplier Full Material Disclosure (FMD) information </li><li>Investigate customer complaints relating to purchased components </li><li>Provide clear feedback and implement corrective measures </li> </ul> <p><strong>Essential Skills & Experience </strong> </p> <ul><li>Background in quality management or quality assurance </li><li>Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills (e.g., 8D methodology) </li><li>Ability to interpret engineering drawings </li><li>Knowledge of SPC, control plans, and dimensional measurement techniques </li><li>High attention to detail with excellent data accuracy </li><li>Experience using ERP/MRP systems </li><li>Confident communicator with suppliers and customers </li><li>Understanding of cosmetic quality standards </li> </ul><p><strong>Desirable Skills </strong> </p> <ul><li>Qualifications in Quality or Engineering </li><li>Auditor or Lead Auditor experience </li><li>Knowledge of Process FMEA </li><li>Experience with SAP </li><li>Understanding of material content analysis </li><li>Experience conducting supplier audits </li> </ul> <p><strong>Benefits Package </strong> </p><p><strong>£38,000 - £50,000 </strong> </p> <ul><li>Companywide bonus (linked to attendance, productivity, and quality) </li><li>33 days holiday including bank holidays, plus holiday purchase scheme </li><li>Life insurance (3× annual salary) </li><li>5% matched pension </li><li>Medical / Health access </li><li>Employee discounts platform </li> </ul> <p>Join a forward-thinking company that truly values its team members and invests in your growth.
