Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

<p><p>Based solely in local NI offices with a degree of flexibility, this is an opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Engineer with strong <strong>Mechanical building Services Design experience </strong> to step into a leadership and delivery role in a fast moving and sector </p><p><br></p><ul><li>Managing the design delivery for decarbonising a range of commercial projects. </li><li>Delivering mechanical designs including schematics, calculations, plant selections, BOMs, and project specifications </li><li>Developing and validating BMS control strategies, from design through to on-site verification </li><li>Collaborating with fabrication teams to ensure designs are accurately translated into manufactured solutions </li><li>Supporting commissioning activities, including optimisation and proofing of BMS controls </li><li>Mentoring and developing junior engineers </li> </ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Requirements </strong> </p><p> Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or equivalent </p><p> Chartered Engineer ideal but not essential (CIBSE or equivalent) </p><p> Minimum 5 years experience in a similar mechanical design role </p><p><br></p><ul><li>Solid understanding of UK & European legislation, standards, and best practice </li><li>Strong experience designing LTHW, MTHW, and steam heating systems </li><li>Experience conducting site surveys, energy assessments, and audits </li><li>Proven ability to coordinate mechanical layouts and service routes </li> </ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Ideal background </strong> </p><p> Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM 360 </p><p> Experience using IES, Hysopt, or similar simulation software </p><p> Delivery of energy efficiency measures and decarbonisation </p><p> Knowledge of heat pump refrigerants and system optimisation </p><p> Design of solar thermal installations and district heating networks </p><p> BREEAM implementation on retrofit projects </p><p> Building energy metering, monitoring, and verification </p><p><br></p><p><strong>To apply please forward your CV (in Word format) using the link provided. </strong> </p><ul type="circle"><li><strong>Or Please click on the View Profile link at the top of this ad for contact details & if necessary leave a voice message and we can arrange a confidential chat at your convenience </strong> </li><li><strong>TechMet are a dedicated Engineering and Technical Recruitment Consultancy.
