<p><p><strong>Recovery Nurse </strong> </p><p><strong>LOCATION: </strong><strong>JACE Private Hospital </strong> / Day Procedure Unit, <strong>GREYSTEEL </strong> </p><p><strong>HOURS: </strong><strong>30-37.5hrs </strong> per week </p><p><strong>SALARY: </strong><strong>£32,000-£38,000 </strong> depending on experience. </p><p><strong>CLOSING DATE: </strong> <strong>29th May 2026 </strong>) </p><p><strong>Professional Requirements </strong> </p><p><strong>(ESSENTIAL) </strong> </p><ul type="disc"><li>NMC Registered Nurse (Adult) </li><li>Up-to-date NMC revalidation, mandatory training, and CPD </li><li>Evidence of post-registration experience in:<ul type="circle"><li>Recovery </li> </ul> </li> </ul><p><strong>Clinical Competencies </strong> </p><p><strong>(ESSENTIAL) </strong> </p><ul type="disc"><li>Airway management: OPA/NPA, LMA, basic airway manoeuvres </li><li>Monitoring: ECG, SpO2, BP, ETCO2 </li><li>Post-anaesthetic care: emergence, nausea/vomiting, pain control </li><li>Analgesia management: IV opioids, multimodal analgesia </li><li>Post-operative complications: hypotension, desaturation, bleeding </li><li>Safe transfer criteria </li><li>Anaphylaxis recognition and management </li><li>ILS certification </li> </ul><p><strong>Governance & Safety </strong> </p><p><strong>(ESSENTIAL) </strong> </p><ul type="disc"><li>WHO Surgical Safety Checklist awareness </li><li>Incident reporting </li><li>Infection prevention & control </li><li>Documentation standards aligned with RQIA </li><li>Understanding of Duty of Candour, GDPR, safeguarding </li><li>Specimen handling (if recovery supports theatre flow) </li> </ul><p><strong>Personal Attributes </strong> </p><p><strong>(ESSENTIAL) </strong> </p><ul type="disc"><li>Calm under pressure </li><li>Strong communication with anaesthetists and theatre teams </li><li>Ability to prioritise rapidly changing clinical needs </li><li>Compassionate, patient-centred approach </li> </ul><p><strong>Desirable Criteria </strong> </p><ul type="disc"><li>Post-Anaesthetic Care Course (PACC) </li><li>Advanced airway skills (supraglottic devices, jaw thrust proficiency) </li> </ul><p><strong>Experience with: </strong> </p><ul type="disc"><li>TIVA, sedation lists, endoscopy recovery </li><li>Experience in private healthcare settings </li><li>Audit participation or QI involvement </li> </ul><p><strong>Please note: </strong>An Access NI enhanced disclosure check (including information held by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)) will be required for this job role. </p><p>The DBS barred lists are maintained by the Disclosure and Barring Service.
