<p><p>MCS is partnering with the South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust to recruit a dedicated, detail-oriented professional to join their Adult Services directorate as a Band 4 Pharmacy Technician. Based initially within Maghaberry Prison, this is a vital role supporting healthcare delivery in a secure environment. </p><p>This isn't a role for someone who wants a standard retail pharmacy routine. This is for an adaptable pharmacy professional who thrives in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment. </p><br>Requirements:<br><ul><li><strong>Qualifications: </strong> BTEC and NVQ3 in Pharmacy Services (or an equivalent recognised qualification). </li><li><strong>Experience: </strong> A minimum of 2 years' experience working as a Student Pharmacy Technician (or equivalent) for at least 14 hours per week. </li><li><strong>Mobility: </strong> A current full driving licence valid for use in the UK and access to a car upon appointment. </li><li><strong>Skills: </strong> Excellent communication skills, strong organisational ability, basic numeracy, and sound computer literacy. </li><li><strong>Desirable: </strong> Previous experience working within a secure environment is highly beneficial but not essential. </li> </ul><p>Note for Students: Pharmacy Technician students qualifying by August 2026 are welcome to apply! Offers will be made pending confirmation of qualification. </p><br>Your Responsibilities:<br><ul><li><strong>Dispensary Services: </strong> Dispensing prescriptions using computer systems under pharmacist supervision, monitoring fridge temperatures/logs to maintain the cold chain, and ensuring the safe disposal or reuse of returned medications. </li><li><strong>Medicines Management: </strong> Issuing self-administration medication to patients, providing tailored medication counselling, and regularly monitoring usage to prevent misuse. </li><li><strong>Clinical Stock Support: </strong> Running efficient top-up services for treatment rooms, managing non-stock items, monitoring expiry dates, and processing daily requisitions. </li><li><strong>Multidisciplinary Liaison: </strong> Assisting nursing staff with the administration of Controlled Drugs, maintaining CD registers/cabinets, and updating computerised medical records (EMIS system) with medication concerns. </li><li><strong>Safety & Compliance: </strong> Ensuring the safe and secure storage of medicines in line with legislation and Trust security policies, while fostering a culture of openness and transparency. </li> </ul><br>Why This Role?<br><p>This role offers a unique opportunity to build a rewarding career within a specialised field of healthcare.
