IAM Technical Specialist

<p><p><strong>MCS Group </strong> has an exciting <strong>exclusive </strong> opportunity for an<strong> IAM Technical Specialist </strong> to join a major public sector transformation programme. This role sits within the integration team, tasked with delivering secure and scalable IAM solutions to support regional systems used across public services. </p><p>As<strong> IAM Technical Specialist, </strong> you will work with a team of IT professionals in the design, development, and support of critical system integration's. You will also play a central role in enhancing identity life-cycle processes, role-based access controls, and developing robust IAM frameworks that align with organisational security standards. </p><p><strong>The Role: </strong> </p><ul><li>Help the development of secure IAM work-flows and system integration. </li><li>Design and implement access controls, entitlement structures, and audit/reporting capabilities. </li><li>Collaborate with internal teams, stakeholders, and third-party suppliers on delivery and support. </li><li>Monitor and ensure compliance with security standards, including MFA, SoD, and least-privilege models. </li><li>Contribute to project planning, solution design, and ongoing support and enhancements. </li> </ul><p><strong>Essential Criteria: </strong> </p><ul><li>Solid hands-on expertise with platforms such as Entra ID, Microsoft Azure Active Directory, Okta, or Oracle IAM. </li><li>Familiarity with IAM-related technologies & concepts (SSO, ADFS, MFA, RBAC, PKI, etc.). </li><li>Proven experience implementing security best practices like least privilege access and segregation of duties. </li><li>Experience creating and managing RBAC within large-scale enterprise systems. </li><li>Excellent communication, and stakeholder engagement skills. </li><li>Ability to manage work-streams, meet tight deadlines, and deliver to specification. </li> </ul><p><strong>Desirable Criteria: </strong> </p><ul><li>Experience with protocols such as OAuth, OpenID Connect, SAML, and Kerberos. </li><li>Knowledge of relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.). </li><li>Experience with APIs and web service integration. </li> </ul><p><strong>The Package </strong> </p><p><strong>Location </strong>: Belfast / Hybrid<br><strong>Duration </strong>: Temporary (initially) for 6-12 Months - Starting ASAP<br><strong>Salary </strong>: £24.45/rate per hour | £ /y<br><strong>Hours </strong>: 37.5 per week (Monday - Friday) </p><p>If you require any reasonable adjustments in relation to your application, please get in touch. </p><p>To speak in absolute confidence about this opportunity please send an up to date CV via the link provided or contact Corey Hillis Specialist Recruitment Consultant at MCS Group . </p><p>Even if this position is not right for you, we may have others that are.
